Quarteira Beach is so lovely, as soon as we arrived at our hotel in the early evening, we went straight to the beach around 8pm and watched the sunset. My 5 year old son loved it. Its family friendly, lots of locals as well as families coming from around the world. The beach is fairly clean and the ocean water isnt soo bad. Free wifi available too. Locals tend to use their own parasols and some hotels have parts of the beach resevered. Plenty of restaurants and shops close by.
