Lia National Park is located dozens of kilometers away from Sihanoukville, and no tickets are required here. It still retains the traditional life and original ecology of the locals. The largest beach in the park is sandy and white, with about three kilometers of rain forest. A new resort is under construction.
The park area in general is destroyed by rampant development, the national park itself is being built on, and the large Chinese developments does not fit the feel of what this place had once been, in fact a lot of this development inside national par area may not even be legal. It is awefull, and the mountain facing Ream beach is being quarried for the stone, it looks hideous.
