    Simple memorial to significant loss

    The loss of so many young people who were conscripted to help with the war effort was quite moving. Some were really quite young and were clearly children rather than what we now think of aa students....

    7,000 Died

    During WW II 3,000,000 children were mobilised for labour services ... 7,000 died for their country - this memorial remembers them.

    During World War II, the Japanese government issued a school labor force in August 1944 to supplement the labor shortage, and students above junior high school were forced to work in military factories and so on. Many students who were working in Hiroshima city were killed as they were mobilized on the day of the bloodbath.     It was built to comfort the spirits of about 10,000 apprentices, including those who died and victims of the atomic bomb, who were mobilized to work to compensate for the labor shortage during World War II. At the top is a statue of a pigeon.
