Sulphur Mountain

This sulphur mountain is located in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan. It is a natural attraction in Akanko National Park. It is free for tourists and it is also a stop for the Akan Lake Tour Bus departing from Kushiro. Sulfur Mountain is a still active volcano. There are many vents on it and there are sulphurous vapors, and the whole valley is filled with the smell of sulphur. The characteristic of this Sulfur Mountain scenic spot is that visitors can watch the sulfur eruption from a quiet distance, and the nearest place is even less than one meter. It takes up to half an hour to travel from the parking lot to the farthest location of the attraction. There are shops in the parking lot where you can buy goods and you can go to the bathroom for free.

The whole valley was filled with a heavy smell of sulfur, and there was no grass growing, a desolate scene. It may be due to psychological effects. I stayed close for 20 minutes and felt a little dizzy when I went down the mountain.

Riding a car all the way from Lake Mashu to Sulphur Mountain is also a characteristic of Japan. The heat generated by the active volcano erupts out, and I also remind everyone not to be scalded. When you get to Sulphur Mountain, you will smell a stinky smell. There is no way. Sulfur is stinky. The white snow in winter and the spouting heat create an interesting combination. It is also a very interesting attraction, which is a bit stinky ╮(╯_╰)╭.

I have never seen such a mountain. It feels like a gate of hell. The air smells of sulfur. The strange geological features are worth seeing. There is also a kind of Hokkaido melon in the surrounding shops. After tasting it, it tastes like our cantaloupe.

Sulfur Mountain is next to Kawayu Hot Spring, very close, and can be reached on foot. Kawayu hot spring flows from the sulfur mountain, and the surrounding area is full of sulfur. The scenic spot is very small, there is nothing to see, so take a picture.
