Strolling Wangfujing from the not so visited side gives you a chance to see a whole different view of it. Venture to this massive pedestrian street and you’ll find yourself a bit in Europe, a bit in New York. Just a bock after the shopping malls there’s the church and the main crossing that reminds me of New York. Discovered it by chance as scooters are not allowed on Chang An avenue. It made a great discovery!

The Spring Festival is a great time to experience the traditional Chinese atmosphere. If you are in Beijing, have already visited the main attractions, walked around the hutongs, then you can still go to 5-star hotels. There are beautiful red decorations in the lobby, you can admire the art and take some photos. If you are on Wangfujin Road, then you have about 6 hotels. "Beijing Wangfujing Shopping Street", also known as: Gold Street, is one of the ancient bustling commercial centers of Beijing, and also a gathering place for Beijing's time-honored brands. Wangfujing Street was established during the Yuan Dynasty, and has a history of over 700 years, historically known as "Shi Wangfu Street" and "Wangfu Main Street". In 1915, it was officially named Wangfujing Street, which originated from a well on the street since the mid-Ming Dynasty. In 1998, during the renovation of Wangfujing Street, this well was excavated. This street has been the most prosperous commercial area in Beijing from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the present, leading the trend for a century.

It's been several years since I last visited Wangfujing, and the current Wangfujing is really well-organized - fewer people and a festive atmosphere! Visiting here on the weekend is a great choice👍 I stumbled upon this small but fun book market by chance - filled with childhood memories! 📍Wangfujing Pedestrian Street: No. 256 Wangfujing Street, Dongcheng District. Parking🅿️ is available in the underground garages of the surrounding malls! 🚇Subway: Line 8 to Goldfish Alley Station (Exit C) 🚌Bus: Route 141 to Wangfujing North Intersection Station. There are several major malls here: Dong'an Market, Beijing Department Store, Beijing apm, and the later opened Wangfu Central. Wangfu Central is high-end and luxurious, with a collection of big brands.
