    Japan's last の soup

    Original Text

While it was raining, I was walking toward the observatory at the top of Dogo Park. Then, after I started walking, I found a hot water pot on display. According to the explanation, it is the oldest valuable hot water pot in Japan. I thought that such valuable things were exhibited outdoors without a good watch, but it's probably a replica. If you are taking a walk at Dogo Farm, please take a look.

There is a large park called Dogo Park on the south side of Dogo Onsen Main Building and Dogo Onsen Station. Shortly after entering the park from the north entrance of this park, there was this Yugama Yakushi. This Yagama Yakushi is said to be the oldest hot water pot in Japan, which was built in 749. It has been used since the Nara period. It was quite a size and magnificent. This hot water pot, which has been used as a health hot water for a long time, has not been used for the construction of the Dogo Onsen main building.

    Japan's oldest の soup

    Original Text

The oldest hot water pot in Japan is preserved in a corner of Dogo Park as a Yakushi. The stone hot water pot was installed at the spring exit of the hot spring in the bathtub, and it was used for more than 1,000 years from the Nara period to the early Meiji period. You can clearly see the statue of Yakushi Nyorai carved on the front of the upper part of the hot water pot.

If you use the train, it is also recommended to take a walk from Dogo Onsen Station to the ruins of Yuzuki Castle to Dogo Park Station. It's on the way, so you can stop by.
