We visit SA from the UK at least once a year and have been doing so for 17 years. Luckily we went to La Colombe early on so our visits there have been since the Frank Dangereux days. Every time we return there is so much anticipation but also some fear, more so this year when the estate has changed...
We did the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing (980 rand). Is was very very very good! The champagne oysters were the best I ever tasted, wonderfully poached. Then we got the salmon, the foie gras, the scallops, the suckling pig and the dessert was chocolate/absinth. Good value for money and great wines with it too.
Always our favourite restaurant in Cape Town. The food is exquisite, both on the a la carte and the set menus.
