The Jinlan Bay Military Base is one of the most important military bases in Vietnam. The military facilities in Jinlan Bay are mainly concentrated on the Jinlan Peninsula in the north. The Jinlan Port is located in the east of the inner bay and is the home port of many frigates and submarines. On the Jinlan Peninsula on the east side of the Jinlan Port, there are air defense positions, dense turrets and underground fortifications. There is Jinlan Airport in the north of the Jinlan Peninsula, which can take off and land long-range bombers and large fighter jets. The outer bay of Jinlan Bay in the south of the Jinlan Peninsula has Pingba Port, which has a depth of more than 30 meters and can dock with the aircraft carrier.

The south coast of central Vietnam, the arc culmination of the South China Sea, has a Jinlan Bay, divided into two bays inside and outside. The entrance of the outer bay is 4 kilometers wide and the water depth is more than 30 meters. The entrance of the inner bay is1.5 kilometers wide, the area reaches 60 square kilometers, the sea is choppy, the inner bay is calm and quiet, and the port of Jinlan is repaired.
