Baolin Temple

Baolin Temple is located behind Baolin Village at the foot of Xingyang Peak of Cangshan Mountain, about 3 kilometers away from Xiaguan. The temple is surrounded by mountains on three sides, sitting west to east, facing the Erhai Lake. The Baolin Temple was built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the 24th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1898). It is connected with the Tianjing Pavilion, Zhuhai Pavilion, Haoran Pavilion and Shuiyue on the Erhai Lake. The pavilion is of the same name, and it is the famous place of Dali. Baolin Temple enshrines the statues of the Lord Dragon King and Duan Chicheng. There is a couplet on both sides of the temple: "Open the mountains and draw the springs, and the eight villages will benefit from Natuo Hongen. Chicheng's courage will shine forever."
