About Danjiangkou: Danjiangkou is located in the upper-middle reaches of the Han River in central China. Nicknamed “China’s Water Capital,” Danjiangkou City is the cradle of Wudang Taoism. Danjiangkou's Wudang Mountain is a famous sacred Taoist site in China, and the ancient building complex there is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Danjiangkou Reservoir is the core water source for the Central Route of the massive South–North Water Transfer Project to divert water from the Yangtze River to China’s dry north. The reservoir has been called “Asia's Heavenly Pool.” Famous attractions include the Jingle (“Pure Joy”) Palace, the Danjiangkou National Forest Park, the Danjiangkou Dam, the Jinchan (“Golden Toad”) Gorge, and the Taijixia (“Taiji Gorge”) Scenic Area.
