The ancient and antique-style buildings in Datong are all top-notch
Dear friends, today I am going to introduce you to a place with a super historical sense - the Datong City Wall! 🏰✨
Imagine standing on the city wall built in the fifth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1372), feeling the weight of history, isn't it exciting? 👀🎉 The Datong City Wall was personally supervised by Xu Da, one of the six founding ministers of the country, this is a real relic! 👑💪
Although it has experienced the baptism of time, the comprehensive restoration project that began in 2009 has given this city wall a new life, and now it can be opened to the public for free again! 🙌💖
The circumference of the Datong City Wall is 7.24 kilometers, the area is 3.28 square kilometers, the height is 14 meters, the upper width is 12 meters, and the lower width is 18 meters, which is spectacular! 📏🌅 You can see four city gates here, each with its own story and characteristics. 🚪💭
The Yongtai Gate Tower of the South Gate, the spring scenery of the East City Wall, the tranquility of the West City Wall in winter, and the Yan Tower, are all beautiful scenes you can't miss! 🦆🏯🌸❄️
Don't forget to go to the City Wall Museum, where the rammed earth wall relics are preserved. You can see the rammed earth wall structure formed by the Northern Wei, Liao Jin, and Ming dynasties in different periods, and the city bricks with the words 'Hongwu Five Years Day and Moon', which are absolutely a witness to history! 🧱📜
Remember when visiting, the opening hours of the city wall are 9:00-22:30, the best time to climb is after 6 pm in the summer evening, when the sun is not very hot, the afterglow of the setting sun, the city tower lights up, the scenery is beautiful! 🌄💡
The best viewing position is of course the South City Gate, where you can overlook the Shanhuasi Temple, and the closest walking distance to the Yan Tower; the West City Gate is also good, you can overlook the Huayan Temple and look at the Bell Tower from a distance. 🕍🔔
So, dear friends, if you are interested in history, or want to experience the feeling of standing on the ancient city wall, the Datong City Wall is definitely your best choice! Come and feel this weight of history with me! ⏳🎒
Shanhua Temple is also a free attraction in Datong. Although the temple is not big, the cultural relics hidden inside are indeed precious. Shanhua Temple is located on the south side of Datong Ancient City, close to the city wall, and it is worth visiting when you have time.
The treasures retained by the architectural art of the Liaojin Times, the simple and unpretentious hall on the exterior, there are surprises everywhere in the details, as well as the Bell and Drum Tower, statues, etc., it is worth doing your homework and savoring. The heavy rain on the day I went, the visit was a bit rough, but it also added the solemnity and vicissitudes of the building. There are five dragon walls that have been relocated at the door.
Shanhua Temple is free, only need to scan the code at the door to make an appointment. Such a beautiful temple is actually free! The temple is very majestic, with two mini bell and drum pavilions in front of the temple. The five-sentence Buddha statues have a kind face and are different from the Buddha statues of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The temples Wenshu and Puxian Pavilion are equipped with exquisite murals.
Absolute conscience of the great country, one cultural protection unit, free visit. The Temple of Heavenly Kings, the Three Temples, the Puxian Pavilion three golden buildings and the Liao Dynasty Daxiong Palace, as well as the golden and Ming Dynasty color plastic inside, are not to be missed! Although no photos are allowed in the hall, it is still possible to take two steals occasionally. It is worth recommending to ancient construction enthusiasts, history enthusiasts and cultural preservation enthusiasts.
Song makes a friendly and thousands of miles away, Yuan Jun worships Wanfang Chen. Keeping the heart four sequences of fragrance and pleasure, happy and three lives of real sense. Sitting on the lotus table became a positive fruit, and swarmed his knees to ask for blessings. Very close, really good
The stone tablet of Shanhua Temple is recorded that it was built in the Tang Dynasty, formerly known as Kaiyuan Temple, and the post-Jin period of the fifth generation was renamed Dapuen Temple.
