The Grand Mosque

Datong Mosque is located at No. 5, 9th Floor Lane, Qingyuan Street, Pingcheng District, Datong City, Shanxi Province. It was built in Tang Zhenguan's second year (628), and was rebuilt in Qing Qianlong's seventh year (1742), covering an area of 9578 square meters. It was expanded in 2009, and the main buildings are: Shanmen, Xinxin Building, Temple of worship, and Houyao Temple.

＂ Mosque ＂ is located in the 9th floor lane of Daxi Street, Datong Ancient City. It is one of two well-known ancient Mosque temples in Shanxi. According to the Qing Qianlong seven years (1742), the temple was built in Tang Zhenguan two years (628), and has a history of thousands of years. This is a temple-style building complex that complements and ingeniously blends classical Chinese architectural style with classical Arab architectural art. It is also the only mosque in China in the Zhengshi "Twenty-Four History". The whole monastery covers an area of more than 20 acres, with compact layout, rigorous structure and clean and solemn. The central axis has the main entrance, cross-heart pavilion, stone bridge, worship hall, and the axis has the right and left rooms, bathing rooms and so on. The main building is connected by four groups of halls, and the overall building maintains the style of ancient Chinese wooden architecture, and has the characteristics of Arab culture.
