Dazaifu, you really know how to enjoy the blossoms. 🌧️I originally planned to cycle to Shiiroyama Forest Road and the Dazaifu Government Office Site, but after asking at the information center, I found out that the flowers had just started blooming, so I gave up on that plan. Although the weather wasn't great, I still saw some pretty nice cherry blossoms, and they will get even better in a few days~ - 🌸Homan Shrine Kamado Shrine The entrance was quite beautifully blooming, and there were more tourists when the bus arrived, but if you wait a while, you can take pictures without anyone in them. It was also nice during the autumn foliage season, and I've included a comparison photo. The shrine is not very big, so pay attention to the bus schedule, which is about every half hour. - 🌸Tenkai Inari Shrine I saw a full bloom of Somei Yoshino cherry trees from the bus, right by the roadside. You can take the bus from the shrine to Sugatani Station, take photos, and then walk up the stone steps past Tenkai Inari Shrine to Dazaifu Tenmangu. Before, I saw routes to the shrine that involved climbing the mountain from Tenmangu, but actually, walking this way now doesn't require a round trip, saving more energy and time. - 🌸Tenmangu Shrine So many people! I took pictures of a few trees near the Treasure Hall and the Kyushu National Museum. - 🌸Kyushu National Museum Stunning weeping cherry trees! Enter from the Tenmangu side, take the elevator to the central plaza area, and you'll see them. The museum also has a special exhibition going on right now~ - Because I have an evening flight back, I arranged this smooth route: 🚞Hakata (subway transfer to Nishitetsu or direct bus) - Dazaifu Station to store luggage - Kamado Shrine - Tenkai Inari Shrine - Tenmangu Shrine - Kyushu National Museum - stroll along the approach, 🍓 enjoy Mont Blanc sweets - take the Nishitetsu bus from Dazaifu Station to Fukuoka Airport International Terminal - The bus has many afternoon services, and the journey takes about half an hour.

🌟 The Kyushu National Museum is one of the four national museums in Japan, located near the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The museum's historical materials are rich and comprehensive, showcasing the development of Asian history and how Japanese culture has evolved in response. It focuses particularly on the period from the 8th to the 12th century, as well as the heyday of the Silk Road, all presented to visitors. 👍 The museum has four floors, with the fourth floor dedicated to the Cultural Exchange Exhibition, systematically introducing Japanese history from the Paleolithic era to the Edo period. It narrates how Japan has interacted and exchanged with the international community over the centuries, leading to the development of a unique Japanese culture, in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. The fourth floor also features an 'Ultra-High Definition Theater' with 8K resolution, offering a vivid theater experience that plays every 30 minutes. ✅ The third floor features special exhibitions that are held regularly. Here, one can view paid exhibitions such as 'Japanese Art in the Age of Exploration' and 'World Heritage Murals'. The price for each exhibition varies, and tickets to the special exhibitions grant free access to the permanent exhibits on the fourth floor. ✅ The second floor houses the office area and the collection storage, as well as the cultural property restoration facility. This floor is not open to the public and is in a closed state. ✅ The first floor has a free interactive exhibition area that introduces exhibits and national costumes from around the world, as well as art and crafts. There is also a museum souvenir section and light refreshments such as coffee and snacks are available. 🍽 Outside the museum, there is a stylishly decorated restaurant. The Italian seafood pasta and smoked salmon salad come highly recommended. If time is limited, simply enjoying the design of the building itself is a pleasure. 🚉 Transportation: It's only a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. 💰 Admission: 430 yen for adults, 130 yen for children. 🕙 Opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30 AM to 5 PM. Highlights: The Dazaifu's Kyushu National Museum is the fourth national museum in the country. The museum building itself is a massive blue construction that resembles a sports stadium more than an exhibition space. Upon first entering the building you will surely be impressed by the spacious entrance hall. 🤩 The museum has an impressive collection of artifacts that are presented in both a creative and informative fashion. There are also a number of small theaters displaying short movies, one of which uses impressive super-high-definition technology.
