See you through thousands of years~ Dege Scripture Printing House. The third stop of Ganzi self-driving during the National Day holiday came from Shiqu County. Although Dege also has an altitude of more than 3,000, the high counter does not exist at all. The county town is very small. When we drove from the hotel, the traffic police uncle guided us to park the car to the government compound for free. Tickets for the Printing House are not expensive. There are three floors. The first floor is the hall dedicated to the gods. The second and third floors are the places for printing and collecting books. You can see the manual printing of scriptures on site, which is quite ritual. You must hire a tour guide here, or you can hardly understand it, but this sense of mystery and ritual also makes people feel worthwhile.

Dege’s Scripture Printing Institute is very famous. It is located in the same old "Gengqing Temple". It has a history of 290 years, but it still uses the most primitive woodblock printing and inherits the craftsmanship of Tibetan scripture printing for thousands of years. It is also the only "printing house" in the world that is still printing scriptures by hand. The Printing Institute is also a world cultural heritage. In 1996, it was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council.
Dege’s scripture printing house is very famous, but there are not many visitors, and it has no influence on the work of the scripture printing house. You can take pictures here. Although I was interested, I didn't understand it at first and didn't dare to ask. Later, I gradually learned that all the scriptures here are printed with the most primitive woodblocks. The printed woodblocks of various periods are kept, and there is a very large inventory. You can just take out the scriptures and put them back when you use them.
