I have visited couple of times and excellent place to have hot drink with friends. Very good bar and very good pub foods. Classy atmosphere..
It is strange that I was not aware of this place until recently. The neighbourhood is a bit shady. So avoid walking alone in the nights or with valuables. Watch out for the moving trains. Food was ok, and the beach and the restaurant was much cleaner than the more popular "Beach Wadiya", another beach-side sea food restaurant 2 kms north of this.
"The Station" down Wasala Road, Dehiwela, across the railway lines is a restaurant facing the ocean. It's a good place to drink and dine and you can BYOB paying corkage. It's also a good & safe place for families to dine. However the booze and food are pricey. The food is nothing out of the ordinary and the attitude of the waiters are not pleasant. On a busy weekend getting a waiter to your table can be a herculean task and sometimes they behave as if they are doing us a favour. I have read in a popular review site that their hot butter cuttlefish is one of the best in town, but on the two occasions I visited, it was too sweet and certainly tasted average. Overall it's an okay place to hangout once in awhile if you prefer an ocean frontage, especially if you intend to BYOB.
