The Delhi Metro
Introduction- The Delhi Metro is a mass rapid transit (MRT) system serving Delhi and its satellite cities of Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Bahadurgarh and Ballabhgarh, in the National Capital Region of India. The network consists of 10 colour-coded lines serving 255 stations with a total length of 348.12 kilometres. It is by far the largest and busiest metro rail system in India, and the second oldest after the Kolkata Metro. The system has a mix of underground, at-grade, and elevated stations using both broad-gauge and standard-gauge. Delhi Metro operates over 2,700 trips daily, starting at around 05:30 and ending at 23:30. It is none less than a revolution in this era of traffic in a busy city like Delhi. It is safe for the girls as well.
Getting There - One needs to look in to the maps and look for nearest metro stations in their departure area and destination in order to ensure smooth journey. You can easily find in out in Google.
Food & Restaurants - There are multiple food restaurants inside the metro stations, specially in Rajiv Chowk metro station I have seen.

must visit at Delhi - Akshardham
This Hindu temple is definitely a must visit at Delhi due to its grand scale. It’s open day and night- you can see it light up once it’s evening. Pity we cannot bring phone in and have to store at lockers but definitely check out this big place that is really packed with locals when at Delhi.

Indira Gandhi international airport India
Visited New Delhi India for a couple of days for business and had a chance to fly out from their Indira Gandhi international airport. The security is tight as you need to have a boarding pass or ticket to physically get into the terminal. Good to plan to be at this airport 3 hours prior to flight time to give yourself some time if delay at security screening etc. There is some nice statues of Elephants at the main terminal. Once inside the transit area, the airport also look quite well maintained.

Dilli Streat cafe @ Delhi Airport
Flying back from Delhi Airport India and had breakfast at Dilli Streat cafe in transit area. It serve pretty good Indian cuisine. The servicing staffs were attentive and provide good service. The cafe was nicely decorated and feel cosy enough for a relaxing break before any flight. Ordered chicken tikka malai and masala tea, they were very good. Highly recommended to visit this cafe at level 2 of transit departure area if you are flying out from here.

Lotus Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Prominent Attraction in Delhi! 🇮🇳
#timetotravel
Tranquility and Serenity are the words I could think of when we went inside the Lotus Temple. So peaceful that makes you want to pray and meditate after all this is a worship hall. Definitely a must visit in Delhi as its achitectural structure is a marvel itself. The surrounding and the environment is clean and well kept. It is free to enter but be appropriate with your clothing.
Address: Lotus Temple Rd Bahapur, Kalkaji, New Delhi. Nearest metro station: Kalkaji Mandir

📍 Lotus Temple
The place is quite good, it's not a temple to worship but a place to relax your mind and meditate in a big hall and there is no need to buy tickets as entry is free.
Information centre helps us to understand more about the place and it's history.
The Lotus Temple has won numerous architectural awards and has been featured in many newspaper and magazine articles.
Overall visiting the temple is a good experience and also gives you peace but with a lot of people around you,it's get difficult.

New Delhi: Buzzing City
New Delhi is the capital of India. Home to the national government and 20 million souls. The straight and diagonal pattern of its broad avenues contrast greatly with the narrow and intricate streets of the Old Delhi. The All India War Memorial, lotus temple are depicted in pictures. #tripforlife #spooktaculartrip #tripblazers #fallingforfall #india

Red Fort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
📍RED FORT , NEW DELHI
The Red Fort or Lal Qila is a historic fort in Old Delhi, Delhi in India that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned construction of the Red Fort on 12 May 1638, when he decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi.
This palace fortress is known as the Red Fort because of the red sandstone fabric of its rampart walls. The fort with its halls, palaces, pavilions and serene gardens was completed in 1648. Within the enclosure of the red fort are located many fairytale buildings. The Diwan-i-Khas (also known as Shah Mahal) and the Rang Mahal (also called Imtiyaz Mahal or palace of distinctions) are the two most conspicuous buildings inside the Red Fort.

RED FORT IN NEW DELHI
The fort was plundered of its artwork and jewels during Nadir Shah's invasion of the Mughal Empire in 1739. Most of the fort's marble structures were subsequently demolished by the British following the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The fort's defensive walls were largely undamaged, and the fortress was subsequently used as a garrison.Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned construction of the Red Fort on 12 May 1638, when he decided to shift his capital from Agra to Delhi.Archaeological excavations at Red fort have unearthed several Ochre Coloured Pottery culture artifacts dating from 2600 BCE to 1200 BCE.

India Gate Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
India Gate x National War Memorial, Delhi
#vianasjourney #awesomepic
India Gate is different structure from Gate of India which located in Mumbai. India gate was built as a memorial dedicated to soldier who died for the country. It’s easily accessible by train and other paid transport such as uber. It was really crowded in the evening so I decided to go in the morning as not many people around during this time. Next to this monument, located as well the memorial park, which open slightly later. No entrance fee for both place. But there will be security check on the memorial park area before enter.

Iconic War Memorial - India Gate Delhi 🇮🇳
A beautiful monument which reminds people the sacrifices of thr soldiers who laid their lives during the world war 1.
The monument itself stands in all its grandeur with a beautiful and well maintained surroundings.
The India Gate is located conveniently in central Delhi so you can see a lot of locals and tourists alike. Friends and families having picnic on the green grass. There are also little snacks and souviner shops around.
No need to pay to see India Gate.
The most convenient to reach India Gate is by taxi but we took the metro to this place. The nearest metro station is the Central Secretariat which falls on the Yellow Line. We just walked to India Gate (which is quite far - around 2 km) but you can take auto rickshaws to reach India Gate.
Enjoy your Delhi trip

India Gate was constructed in the year 1931 as a war memorial for over 70,000 soldiers killed during First World War and Afghan War. The names of the soldiers are inscribed in the walls of India Gate. It was earlier known as “All India War Memorial”. Situated on Rajpath, India Gate looks stunning in the evening lights. #givethanks #travelinspiration #couplestrip #deliciousfood #historicallandmarks #nyedestinations
