The Deqing County Museum was founded in 1965 and was originally named Deqing County Cultural Relics Museum. In 1977, it was renamed Deqing County Museum. It is a local comprehensive history museum. It is a joint office with Deqing County Cultural Relics Protection Management Office. Its main functions are cultural relics collection, collection, research, and exhibition. It is responsible for the collection of cultural relics, archaeological exploration, and the protection and utilization of cultural relics and historical sites in Deqing County. The collection of cultural relics began in the Neolithic period of primitive society, and began in modern times. The main types include stoneware, ceramics, calligraphy and painting, and jade. The new Deqing Museum has a construction area of 6,000 square meters, including an exhibition hall area of 2,600 square meters and a collection of nearly 5,000 cultural relics. It was completed and opened in December 2005. The exhibitions in Deqing Museum are divided into basic exhibitions and temporary exhibitions. The basic display is titled "Living in Wuyue Mountains and Rivers", and is divided into three parts: "Shi Haigou Shen Wu Yue picks up the British", "Dream Water Country Folk Customs", and "Celebrities Gathering and Ink Fragrance". More than 200 pieces of cultural relics of Deqing from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties are displayed. The static display of cultural relics and the dynamic simulation of scenes complement each other with sound, light, and electrical technology, which outlines the history of Deqing’s 7,000-year history.
