Wanggong and Fangyuan in Changhua – This is definitely a hidden gem for a quick day trip! Enjoy seafood, explore the lighthouse, stroll through the wetlands, and take photos of unique architecture. Even if you've been before, you'll want to come back again! This time, the sky was clear and sunny, and my friends and I took photos in front of the Wanggong Fishing Port Visitor Center. The modern architecture, the sea breeze, and the relaxed outdoor atmosphere were truly unforgettable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick trip that satisfies all their needs for food, drinks, and fun! Attractions Overview Wanggong Story Museum Immerse yourself in the local culture at the Wanggong Story Museum. The architecture is incredibly unique! Inside, it showcases the history and stories of the fishing village, giving you a quick understanding of the past and present of Wanggong Harbor. It's also a great spot for taking photos. On a sunny day, every shot in front of the museum is a masterpiece. Address: No. 840, Yugang Rd., Fangyuan Township, Changhua County Opening Hours: 09:00-17:00, all year round Fangyuan Lighthouse A visit to the beach is incomplete without checking out a lighthouse! The Fangyuan Lighthouse is one of the most popular landmarks on this route. The black and white lighthouse itself is a spectacular sight for photos. Weekends are the best time to visit (closed on Mondays). You can stroll along the shore, enjoy the sea breeze, and soak up the harbor atmosphere. Address: No. 146, Yugang 7th Rd., Fangyuan Township, Changhua County Opening Hours: 09:00-17:00, Tuesday to Sunday Fangyuan Wetland Mangrove Sea-Sky Trail This trail is the most spectacular and surprising natural attraction of this trip! Strolling among the mangroves, with wooden boardwalks underfoot and unparalleled sea views, it's incredibly therapeutic for taking photos or simply relaxing. The afternoon light is especially beautiful, when the sea and sky merge seamlessly, making it perfect for a short walk or a relaxing hike. It's definitely a must-visit natural photo spot in Fangyuan. Address: Fangyuan Township, Changhua County Opening Hours: Open all year round Food Recommendation: A-Yuan Zhen's Ten-Flavor Oyster Fried Seafood "A-Yuan Zhen's Ten-Flavor Oyster Fried Seafood" near Wanggong Fishing Port is a seafood lover's paradise! The oyster fritters are delicious, and they also offer a variety of other fried seafood. Freshly fried and piping hot, they're best enjoyed with their local special sauce! Perfect for lunch or dinner, and located near a fishing port with a great atmosphere. Address: No. 700, Yugang Road, Fangyuan Township, Changhua County Alleyway Oyster Fritters If you're an oyster fritter fanatic, Alleyway Oyster Fritters is a must-try. Besides oyster fritters, their pork fritters and squid fritters are also incredibly famous—a small shop tucked away in an alley, incredibly popular, and with flavors that evoke old Taiwanese style! Address: No. 3, Ren'ai Lane, Fangyuan Township, Changhua County Signature Dishes: Oyster Fritters, Pork Fritters, Squid Fritters Travel Tips This trip to the Wanggong-Fangyuan area was truly fun and relaxing, perfect for a family trip or a solo getaway. Many attractions are open spaces, so sunscreen is essential; there's a sea breeze near the trails and lighthouse, so bring a jacket. With crowds expected on holidays, it's recommended to leave early! Food tastes best when fried fresh, so don't worry about waiting in line! If you have time, returning to the fishing port in the evening to watch the sunset is absolutely perfect. Transportation Guide: Wanggong Fishing Port is easily accessible by car, bus, or on foot, connecting to various attractions. For those without a car, take Changhua Bus 264 or 670 to Wanggong or Fangyuan, then walk or cycle for a convenient day trip. Many restaurants are located in the Wanggong Fishing Port or Fangyuan area, making it easy to plan your itinerary. Overall Review: This Wanggong-Fangyuan route offers a one-stop experience of food, drinks, and entertainment, combining natural scenery with local charm. It's perfect for a weekend getaway or a more in-depth photo shoot.
