Palace
sculptorChristiansborg Palace (Christiansborg) is a palace and government building on Slotsholmen island in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the seat of the Danish Parliament, the Danish Chancellery and the Danish Supreme Court. In addition, part of the palace was used by the Danish monarch, including the royal reception room, palace chapel and royal horse court. The Fort Palace building is the third building named after this name, and it is the last in a series of consecutive castles and palaces built on the same site since the first castle was built in 1167. Christiansborg Palace is owned by the Danish government and several parts of the palace are open to the public.

Historical Architecture
sculptorAmalienborg Palace is the residence of the Danish royal family. It consists of four identical classical palace facades, surrounded by rococo interiors in an octagonal courtyard; in the center of the square is a huge equestrian statue of King Frederick V, founder of Amalienborg. Amalienborg was originally built for four noble families. However, when the Christiansborg Palace was burned down on February 26, 1794, the royal family purchased these palaces and moved into this palace. Over the years, various monarchs and their families lived in four different palaces.

Copenhagen Travel Tips

About Copenhagen

Copenhagen is the capital city of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is a city that does a perfect job of combining classical antiquity with modern life. People have given Copenhagen honorable names such as "the Paris of Northern Europe", as the city holds many palaces, castles and other examples of ancient architecture. The whole place is completely suffused with an artistic atmosphere. As you stroll down the streets, you will see more statues than you can possibly count, along with art centers and museums. One of the city's main attractions is the Little Mermaid statue. It is located at Copenhagen's beautiful seaside promenade, Langelinie. In fact, author Hans Christian Andersen spent more than half of his life in Copenhagen and many of his most famous works were penned here.
