E36***32We loved this town. It’s well preserved and isn’t a tourist trap like Lijiang. It felt very authentic and locals were very friendly. Our accommodations were, both away from the old town, which really placed us in the middle of nature! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would totally revisit.
E35***18Great day trip from Shaxi. we walked to the first temple, nice views and chance to see a lot of monkeys. might be a good idea to take a stick some if them might get close to try and steal food. the view from the top of Baoxiang temple is amazing :)
AURURA木木It feels a lot to look at, it's on Shaxi Old Street, which is not bad. But to charge tickets, here is more of Xiaocheng Buddhism, not bad, and the artistic style is also good. But it closes after five o'clock in the evening.
大行The Shizhong Temple Grottoes are the most characteristic of the three major grotto areas (Shizhong Temple, Lion Pass, and Shadengqing) in the Shizhongshan Grottoes (also known as Shibaoshan Grottoes) in Jianchuan, Dali, Yunnan. The Shizhongshan Grottoes were created in the late Tang Dynasty and were excavated successively for more than 300 years from the Five Dynasties to the Southern Song Dynasty. It is more than 1,000 years ago. There are eight caves in the Shizhong Temple Grottoes. The statues in the grottoes are exquisitely crafted, colorful, and lifelike. The terrain is undulating, the buildings are majestic, and the mountains are peculiar. Apart from cultural relics and Buddhist culture, they are of great ornamental value.
大行A sense of age, history, vigor, tranquility, novelty, and strong ethnic customs... Located in Si Deng Street, Shaxi Town, Jianchuan, Dali, the only surviving bazaar on the Ancient Tea Horse Road, this feeling is everywhere. Perhaps because of this, even though the transportation is not very convenient, it still attracts a large number of tourists, including backpackers and photography enthusiasts to check in or even stay here. I am sorry for those who just passed by.
gz当地向导伊妹儿Dali Jianchuan Manxian Forest Qianshi Mountain Scenic Tourist Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction. The scenery is good, the scenery is very beautiful and beautiful. Qianshi Mountain stone lions are in various poses and lifelike. It feels very good and worth recommending to everyone.
Jianchuan Travel: Suitable, Umbrella: Not Required, UV Strength: Low

Hotels - a great range of home stays and hotels.
Food & Restaurants - some amazing choices from local foods to vegan pizzas at Hungry Buddha.
Shopping - lots of shops for souvenirs and clothing. a couple of shops for food and toiletries in the center
I think it’s safe to say that Shaxi Ancient Town is beautiful. From rolling fields of garlic and other fresh produce, to boutique shops, old temples, quaint restaurants, friendly locals and more, there’s loads that you can explore here.
I would recommend staying at least two nights to ensure you are able to experience as much as possible!
You can also hire bicycles from one of the shops in the center of the village so that you can push your exploration even further into the surrounding countryside - reserve at least a full afternoon for that alone! While cycling, we stopped by a beautiful cafe, a bookstore and stunning views all round!
📍Shaxi Ancient Town, Yunnan Province, China
When I first saw Shaxi
came in from the ancient town of Shaxi, I saw a yellow-yellow wall with the first sight of Shaxi
I thought the name was good. I took a picture at the door, and then I realized that this is a net red in Shaxi Ancient Town. Restaurant
environment is simple, very taste of Shaxi, the boss is very literary, the raw materials in the store are all pollution-free products
specialties Bai trio, bacon, sausage, ham, good-looking, favorite Ham
signature musk beef, a bit like the taste of Sichuan cuisine, beef tender
fried bean skin, a big one, suitable for children
overall, the experience is good, next to a small bar, In the evening, there are singers singing.
Name: First see Shaxi private kitchen
per capita consumption: about 60 yuan
Shaxi is like Lijiang more than ten years ago. Neat stone road, there is a clear stream on both sides of the street, the water is unbelievable.
Rows of shops are also old houses, wooden carved doors and windows, some are snack bars, some sell clothing, some are hardware department stores, there are also one or two bookstores, coffee shops, cute shops, neither People feel too commercial, and they don't make tourists feel too primitive. It maintains a proper balance between old and simple tastes.
Ancient stage is Shaxi is also the landmark building of the temple on the street. The tree on the open space in front of the stage is old, and it has its appearance in the old photos of the last century. At that time, the tree was still relatively Fine, not as leafy as it is now, standing on the ground. The opposite of the
ancient stage is the Xingjiao Temple built in the Ming Yongle period. It and the ancient stage form the center point of Shaxi. In the early years of the information picture, the people here come and go, the horses shuttle constantly, than Qingming Shanghe map will be a bit more lively.
The world is changing, the flow of years is like a white pass, and the bustling market of the bustling city has now vanished, leaving only the bluestone board to tell the silence of the land.
Shaxi's inn, all of them are exquisite and have a mood, the flowers and trees are sparse, and the public space has comfortable and interesting couches. When people see it, they want to go in and have a cup of tea and spend a long time. I hope that I am an innkeeper, guarding a yard of flowers, boil water, cooking tea, watching the clouds.
[Shaxi] is located in the southwest of Jianchuan, Yunnan, China. It is located in the southeast of the Jinsha River, Minjiang River and Nujiang River Three Rivers Nature Reserve. It is located between the Dali Scenic Area and the Lijiang Ancient City. The famous Shibao Mountain is here.
Shaxi Ancient A true ancient town, antique, still retains the most original architectural features. Ancient temples, ancient theaters, ancient shops, horse shops, ancient red sandstone streets, century-old ancient trees, ancient lanes, and ancient village gates.
Shaxi is located in front of Dali and Lijiang, actually closer to Lijiang.
Dali will take 2.5 hours to go to Shaxi, and you can go back and forth on the same day.
But it is recommended to stay for a few days, there will be different gains.
If you use a word to describe Shaxi, then "quietness" can't be overemphasized.
It is the only surviving bazaar on the ancient tea-horse road. It is as quiet as ever, like Lijiang Lijiang ten years ago.
The ancient town of Shaxi is different from Wuzhen. It is popular in the ancient town of Jiangnan. It still retains its original features due to inconvenient transportation. Although it has been a lot of prosperity since four years ago, there are still not many people. Ancient temples, ancient stage, ancient shops, ancient red sandstone streets, centuries-old trees, ancient lanes... all of which fascinate us. Sifang Street is the most characteristic place in Shaxi. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the uneven stone road, occasionally there will be puppies walking. The Shaxi without the tour group is more free. Everyone who comes here seems to be distracted. They played chess on the street, or bought some pine mushrooms on the street, or just wandered aimlessly, and we did the same, taking pictures while walking, stopping and stopping.
Shaxi Ancient Town is a place that is not particularly commercialized. It is located in the middle of Lijiang, Lijiang, and it is also a place of paradise.
Because it is not so commercial, the popularity is not so high, so visitors are not too much. However, because the tourism industry has been vigorously developed in recent years, there are many hotels and hostels built.
This stay at the hotel is one of the best inn in Shaxi.
Inn is a courtyard pattern, the old building has been remodeled, both local characteristics and unique style.
The layout of the hotel is still the local residential mode, facing the lobby. When the business is not busy, the waiters are sitting in the yard and enjoying the sun. If you come here, it is very lively. On the right hand side of the
lobby is a sofa and tea table.
Reading tea here, reading Chinese calligraphy and calligraphy on the wall. The overall decoration of this inn is very Chinese, and the decoration from the exterior to the interior is the keynote.
I am especially fond of this place, probably also love the style here.
There is a river outside the ancient town, there are trees by the river, and there are bridges on the river.
Take the Yujin Bridge, the ancient bridge upstream people come and go, but it does not hinder its ancient beauty. The
brick stone has changed color in the years, the grayish yellow is deep and shallow, and there are still horses passing by here, which is also a unique scenery on the bridge.
The reflection here is very quiet and beautiful.
There is even more like Jiangnan, the hometown of exquisite and quiet.
On the ancient roadside, the camel bell is still ringing.
The horses often walk on the roads of this millennium with people and things.
In the quiet years, only this camel ringtone brings people's thoughts back to the distance.
Shaxi Ancient Town is located in the middle of Lijiang, Lijiang. It is more convenient to drive from the two cities for about 2 hours. However, if it is not a self-driving tour, there will be some toss in the past.
I used to like Dali very much. Now I prefer Shaxi.
Shaxi has a beauty that avoids the world, and the tranquility that sinks in the years is rare in other places.
This ancient town is very close to the modern place where people live, but it is just across the street and the atmosphere of life is completely different. Here, the walls of these loess are the most common here. The texture of the
soil is so exposed, and the buildings that existed before and the buildings that were later restored in the local area formed a strong contrast. The sense of the times is self-evident.
Maybe I just like the place where these loess stones are made, so I love the northwest, so I love it.
