The monastery sits north and south, covering a total area of 86.6 million square meters, and the construction area is more than 400,000 square meters. As one of the six major monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism Gelu, Labrang Temple is known as the "World Tibetan Academy". Labrang Temple was once the center of politics and religion in Gannan, with Wensi College, Shilun College, Sakyamuni Temple and other attractions. Its architectural style and characteristics are mostly modeled on the four major monasteries in Tibet. Labrang Temple has always maintained the best Tibetan Buddhist teaching system in the country, and is a highly respected learning center.
