maychenKurashikikan is a Western-style wooden building in the Kurashiki Bikan District. It was built in 1917 as the town hall of Kurashiki. It is currently a tourist information center in Kurashiki. You can climb up to the first observatory for ten minutes. If you want to have a better view, you can go up to the second observatory. If you want to watch the sunset, there is a "Sunset Sightseeing Bus" that departs in the evening at Kojima Station. It is only available on Fridays, Saturdays, and the day before Japanese holidays. Depending on the sunset time, the departure time is different every last month. The Archaeological Museum is a typical Kurashiki-characteristic building. It is a warehouse of Baibi soil. The ancient warehouse is now an archaeological museum, displaying cultural relics unearthed in Kibi (Okayama) such as stone tools and copper duo. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, adult tickets are 500 yen.
