I visited Hengdian World Studio ‘Palace of Emperor Qin’ and I was impressed with the architectural structure of the palace. The ground is huge and I spent 1.5 hours exploring the site including watching the coronation of the emperor performance. Costumes are available for rent where visitors can dressed up for picture taking mimicking their favourite film stars I.e Miyue 羋月 Many popular Chinese dramas were filmed here. As I am a fan of ancient costume dramas, I am glad to have the chance to step on the site where some scenes were filmed. Hengdian comprises of more than 10 studios but unfortunately I only managed to spend half day at this attraction while enroute to Hangzhou. To cover all the studios, perhaps will need to allocate at least 3-5 days as the studios are spread across the town and some sites are only open in the afternoon. I definitely will return to explore the other studios.

Hengdian Travel | Adults don't make choices when traveling, I want both
Whoever goes to Hengdian's Yuanming New Garden knows! Those who have been there can't help but give a thumbs up~👍
The Spring Garden there is very large, not only does it have the Ten Scenes of West Lake in Hangzhou🏜️, but also the sorrowful flowing waters of Shaoxing's Lanting, where you can take a boat🚢, admire waterfalls...... Who wouldn't be mesmerized by the beauty of Jiangnan? The Summer Garden is mainly characterized by 🏛️European architecture, and the twelve animal heads here spout water every hour, perfectly replicating the details of the Old Summer Palace, making one sigh at the former glory of the Old Summer Palace.
‼️Ps: The entrances to the Spring Garden and Summer Garden are only two kilometers apart, which is very convenient.
🎫Ticket: Buying a combo ticket in advance only costs 191 yuan per person, and there is a discount for teacher's ID.
📍Hengdian Film and Television City Travel Tips:

2️⃣ Along the River During the Qingming Festival: The revival of the famous painting event, where you can change into Song dynasty clothes and immerse yourself in interactions with vendors, delivery guys, and storytellers!
3️⃣ Yuanming New Garden: Take you back to the Garden of all Gardens, to experience the ceiling of Chinese aesthetics.

Hengdian World Studios
I really liked Hengdian Studios! Take your time to explore and enjoy the pop up shows, decor amd architecture. It feels like a different world, walking around all these beautiful spots.
Getting There - It's easy to get around. Although the studios are scattered around, you can just get a Didi to take you to the different studios.
Attractions - There's a lot to see and it's big...I would recommend you take two days if you want to do it at a leisurely pace. I squeezed all of them into one day...it's doable but then you are rushed.
Hotels - There's a lot of hotels around Hengdian that you can choose according to your own preferences.
Food & Restaurants - There's snack stalls where you can buy something to eat and drink.
Shopping - You have to go through a shop to exit the attraction where you can buy memorabilias.

Hengdian Studios has also built a one-to-one imitation version of the Beijing Forbidden City for film and television creation. It was built with 13 mountains, and now it is also a tourist. This attraction is the Ming and Qing Palace of Hengdian. The Ming and Qing Palaces use the Forbidden City as a template, copying and constructing 1:1, referring to the palace construction techniques of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the imposing palace square, the magnificent palace of the emperor, and the Forbidden City. spell.

Qinwanggong Scenic Area Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
The Qin Palace here is a scent of many film and television dramas. The swaying, heroes, sacred moons, and solitary worlds have all been used here to showcase the majestic ancient architecture of the Qin and Han Dynasties. If you come to the Qin Palace, don't miss the 4D roller coaster dragon emperor here.
-swenty-.
The Qinwang Palace Scenic Spot of Hengdian Film and Television City was built in 1997 for the famous director Chen Kaige to film the historical blockbuster Jingjing Zhu Qin. It covers an area of 800 mu and has a construction area of 110,000 square meters. There are 27 majestic royal palaces, famous for their large scale, complex shape and strict layout. Majestic palaces of all kinds, five steps and one floor, ten steps and one pavilion; the corridors are back and forth, the fangs are high, and each is holding the terrain and hooking the corner. Thanks to its strong historical atmosphere, Qin Palace is helping the "King Jing Qin King" to win the Best Technology Award at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. At the same time, it also attracted many large films to shoot here. The Qinwanggong scenic spot can be said to be the cradle of film and television blockbusters and historical dramas.

Hengdian - Qin Wang Palace
We live in a homestay opposite the Qin Wang Palace, so we left the Qin Wang Palace as the last place to visit. They don't allow entry after 4 pm and clear the place by 5 pm. We entered at 3 pm and if we didn't watch the performance, it would take just over an hour to visit. There are many people queuing for the performance, queuing for 2-3 hours, and the performance is only about 10 minutes, which is a waste of time. It's better to watch a formal theater performance, and the actors are relatively amateur. Single tickets are 198, if you book online a day in advance it's 188, and a package for 3 attractions is 450. There are discounts for people over 60 and students.
The city wall is not allowed to go up, it looks very grand on the spot, but there are not many attractions, there are many people in the long alley under the city wall, it doesn't feel good to take pictures, there are only two squares in total, it's really not worth it. There is a flying sky in the venue, about 180, different prices for adults and children, just a few rounds on it, overall it doesn't feel too good.

Hengdian Film and Television City is very fun
👍Most recommended:

Yinghua house of Hengdian film and Television City Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A must-save famous inn, you never know when you might need to stay there
Hengdian Film and Television City Sakura Hermitage
Inside Guangzhou Street, the overall architecture is Japanese style. The room I stayed in is called 'Zen', and since it's on the first floor, the curtains are usually drawn to avoid being watched.
The room layout is overall Japanese style, and there is a shuttle service to and from the entrance, which is very convenient. Breakfast is also Japanese style, with slight variations in the meals each day. If needed, you can request additional dishes. Before 9 am when the park is not yet open, the whole world is quiet, and it's very atmospheric to take a walk in the morning.

Hengdian Film and Television City Guangzhou Street Da Ao Homestay
Hengdian Film and Television City Sakura Hermitage
Shoot a hotel video to win a 200 yuan reward. Deep in the Guangzhou Street of Hengdian Film and Television City, there is a film-themed homestay with a Japanese style theme. The names of various well-known movies serve as the themes for the rooms, including Hachiko: A Dog's Story, Your Name, Kikujiro's Summer, and so on. The rooms are all spacious, with interiors that are rich in thematic elements. The rooms are spacious and tidy, and the housekeeper is enthusiastic about answering questions promptly.

You have to admit, this place is just too good to stay and too fun to play
Hengdian Film and Television City Sakura Residence
The location is great, right inside the Hengdian Guangzhou Street scenic area. You need to go to the main desk at the South Gate to check in, which is quickly handled, and then there will be a shuttle to take you to the entrance at the tourist center, making check-in very convenient. The room is a separate courtyard, very spacious, with advanced facilities, a strong cultural atmosphere, and welcome fruit provided. A family of three is very satisfied with their stay!

Hengdian Accommodation|This is not Japan
|This is not Japan. Hengdian Accommodation|This is not Japan
Going to Hengdian for fun, the hotel we stayed in was simply amazing! The hotel is located inside Guangzhou Street, which is super convenient. There are so many themed hotels inside Guangzhou Street
We booked a Japanese-themed detached villa called 'Sakura Hermitage' which made us feel like we were in Japan, super feel
For sisters planning to go to Hengdian, I really strongly recommend it
As is well known, the several major scenic spots in Hengdian are famous for their architectural styles that restore history and attract many drama crews to settle in for filming. Sakura Hermitage also inherits this fine style. Sakura Hermitage is located within the Hengdian Guangzhou Street·Hong Kong Street scenic area, and it is a Japanese-themed homestay area.
From the moment you enter the archway of Sakura Hermitage, you can instantly feel the strong Japanese atmosphere. The roads on both sides of Sakura Hermitage are lined with cherry blossom trees, and the structure and decorative details of the houses are full of Japanese style. Each scattered Japanese-style building is a homestay room that tourists can directly check into, and each building is named after a movie title, with the corresponding room interior decorated in the style of that movie.
In Sakura Hermitage, you can really experience the feeling of time travel, especially when walking in the rain at night and pushing open the door in the morning to see the scene in front of you.
In short, this hotel experience is super good!
I really want to recommend it to everyone

Luzhai Buildings Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
In the north lies the Forbidden City, and in the south resides the Lu Residence—Dongyang Lu Residence
In the north lies the Forbidden City, and in the south resides the Lu Residence." The Lu Residence can be called the folk Forbidden City. The Suyong Hall of the Lu Residence, with its nine courtyards arranged in a herringbone layout, extends 320 meters in depth, making it the longest among domestic residences. It boasts a grand scale, with ornate architectural components, blending Dongyang wood carving with colorful painting arts, and integrating brick carving and stone carving arts. The hall houses more than three hundred various palace lanterns from the Ming and Qing dynasties. As one of the lesser-known attractions, the Lu Residence ancient architectural complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties is located outside the Yinghui Gate of the old county town of Dongyang in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, now on the eastern side of Dongyang city area. Situated in the eastern suburbs of Dongyang city area, it is the largest Ming and Qing architectural complex in the south of the Yangtze River, known as the folk Forbidden City. Since the Ming dynasty, the talented Lu family has been a prominent and respected clan in Dongyang. The Lu family's residence, after more than three hundred years of construction, has formed a complete Ming and Qing architectural complex, surrounded by streams, with cobblestone streets running through it, evoking a sense of nostalgia during a stroll.
The Lu family's ancestors originally lived in Zhuozhou (now in Hebei), and during the early years of the Song dynasty's Xianping era (998), Lu Lian moved to the mouth of Mount Tiantai (near present-day Baihe Town of Tiantai). Seven generations later, Lu, in the early years of the Song dynasty's Zhiping era (1064), moved to Qiaoxi, a western village of Dongyang (east of present-day Shendaomen). After three more generations, Lu Yuanfu moved to Yaxi. Now, to the northeast of the Lu Residence was originally the hometown of He Mengran, a Southern Song dynasty official; the He family later moved to Lintou, leaving only the He family foundation. Zijin Bridge was originally the Xu family's hometown, whose descendants are now unknown. The village is named after the Lu family surname, Lu Residence. To the south of the village are the three peaks of Nanping, known as the Penholder Mountain. On the shady side of the mountain, three branches of elegant water flow, encircling the village.
The Suyong Hall is the core and main axis of the Lu Residence ancient architectural complex. To the east of the South Lema Peak in the Lu Residence is the Dongxian Peak, which serves as the southern barrier of the Lu Residence. The Lu family has always valued education. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, apart from the family school for young children's learning, there were the Xianfeng Academy and the Hetin Academy. The Hetin Academy was built by Lu Ge, a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations, who resigned from his official position and returned home in the 15th year of the Ming Hongzhi era (1502), with two academies, east and west, preserved until the end of the Qing dynasty. In the 32nd year of the Qing Guangxu era (1906), the privately-run Gaodeng Peifeng School was established, with classrooms set up in the Shude Hall and Suyong Hall. In 1914, it was renamed the privately-run Dansu Primary School, and in 1930, the senior department moved into the Lu Liemin Public Shrine on Chen Residence Street.

I really love these niche and fun travel destinations!
Recommend a truly obscure ancient town in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area! Even on holidays, there are no tourists at all, a real hidden gem + authentic ancient town that I've discovered!
'North has the Forbidden City, south has Lu Residence,' the Lu Residence mentioned here is an ancient architectural complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties, grand in scale, once the dwelling place of the descendants of Jiang Taigong, the Lu family of Yaxi.
The Lu Residence combines Dongyang wood carving, brick carving, and lanterns, among other crafts, in one residence, with the 'Nine Lions Playing Ball' three-beam structure as its representative.
The treasure of the residence is the 'Baogai Suoluo Lian Sanju Qicai Sui Yangjiao Lantern,' made with 400,000 colored glass beads, it is the largest hall lantern in the world (this is displayed once every four years, and only appears on important festivals or leap years).
The Lu Residence ancient architectural complex is also considered a major feature of Dongyang. I took advantage of a free opportunity to enter the Suyong Hall, and fortunately, there were quite a few tourists when I went, the many Chinese-style displays inside can be a bit immersive in a Chinese horror sense, especially the Chinese wedding room, with its red drapes that are strikingly new and create a strong visual contrast, inducing a sense of psychological oppression. The deeper you go into the Suyong Hall, the more traces of ancient times you can see, and there is also a very spectacular ancestral hall, with many small rooms inside, like a treasure hunt, one by one, and some rooms that have not been renovated. When I left, I wandered around and didn't even know where I was.
+500-year-old ancient buildings, exquisitely beautiful wood carvings, and colored glaze lanterns
+Outer ancient building area + inside Lu Residence + wood carving street + night market, very playable
+2 hours from Hangzhou, 30 minutes from Hengdian, right in the city, no need to traverse mountains, convenient transportation, easy to find food and accommodation~ The streets around the Lu Residence are also worth exploring at night,
Location: Dongyang Lu Residence (north parking lot at the main entrance)
Tickets: 65 for inside the Lu Residence, free for the outer ancient building area, free for the art museum.

The elegant family, the Lu residence in Dongyang, is a true grand mansion of the Jiangnan region
There is a saying about the Lu residence, 'The Forbidden City in the north, the Lu residence in the south.'
Walking through one gate after another, you are immediately struck by the profound sense of history.
One can't help but imagine the various scenes of the Lu family's life here, each place intriguing.
I used to think that grand mansions in Jiangnan were all about luxury and grandeur, but after seeing the Lu residence, I realized that a mansion can also be elegant and understated.
Most people who go to Dongyang are heading for Hengdian, yet this real ancient residence, the Lu residence, is rarely mentioned.
I happened to pass by Dongyang and saw the sign for the Lu residence, only after searching did I realize it's a hidden gem of an attraction.
Not many people on weekdays, and there is parking available near the visitor center.
The Lu residence belongs to a long-renowned group of ancient buildings in the Jiangnan region.
Along the axes of the Suyong Hall and the Shude Hall, there are six groups of buildings including the Fangbo Mansion, the Zhushi Mansion, the Dafu Mansion, the Shijinshi Mansion, the Wutai Hall, and the Longwei Hall, stretching over 300 meters in depth and covering more than 500 acres.
The architectural value of the Lu residence is reflected in its nine successive halls, similar to the Forbidden City, and its exquisite wood carving craftsmanship.
Must-see:
1. The treasure of the residence, the pearl lamp, is said to weigh 240 jin (about 120 kg), and the craftsmanship is lost and easily damaged, so the original is exhibited only once every four years. Exceptionally gorgeous.
2. The Nine Lions Playing with a Ball on three beams. Lifelike and very dynamic in carving.
3. The 'hooked joint' structure used between the front hall and the main hall of the Suyong Hall.
Address: No. 2, Luzhai Street, Dongyang City
Ticket price: 65 yuan (I used the Jinhua 99 yuan annual pass), 58 yuan for online ticket purchase the day before.
