The Gold Peak Giant Buddha is located in Jilin Province's Dunhua City, on the peak of the mountain behind Zhengjue Temple in the Liudingshan National Scenic Area. Sitting on the south side of the north face, the Gold Peak Giant Buddha faces away from the Mudan River and towards the Zhengjue Temple. Looking almost exactly like Hong Kong's giant Buddha, this Buddha's gaze is fixed towards the far off Changbai Mountain. Because of the similarity with Hong Kong's Buddha, it is said that this is Buddha possesses two physical bodies, divided between north and south, both of which jointly bless the lands of China, while enlightening and blessing believers around the world. Nearby buildings associated with the Gold Peak Giant Buddha include the Temple of Five Hundred Arhats, the Ten Thousand Buddha Hall and the Great Ecology Buddha.
