We have been to many places in the Annapolis River Valley and the south coast of Nova Scotia, but so far my favorite place after Halifax is of course the fishermen's Sullivan Bay. This place is very close to Halifax. It only takes about 20 minutes to drive from the downtown area if there is no traffic jam. Even a very careful driver can drive it. The huge parking lot helps a lot. The colorful houses are full of souvenirs that you can't find elsewhere. But of course junk souvenirs can also be seen everywhere. There are some cozy restaurants and cafes, the one we went to offers reasonably priced food. That restaurant is called Marina Seafood.
Fisherman's Bay is a beautiful bay in Halifax, where many fishing boats dock, hence the name Fisherman's Bay. The shores of the bay are full, with all kinds of seafood restaurants and bars. This is also the best place for nightlife in Halifax. In the evening, the neon lights of restaurants and bars are colorful and very lively.
