This is one of the most memorable place I have ever been. Arthur’s seat in Edinburgh, The UK. This hill is absolutely stunning and breathtaking. I can spend hours just sitting here overlooking the city or enjoy the green spacious park. I enjoyed every second when I was here. Amazing. #wintergetaway
Before I arrived in Edinburgh, my impression of it stayed in countless movies. "ONE DAY", "Da Vinci Code", "Guess the Train"... and J. Arthur's Seat is a wonderful geologic formation right in the middle of #Edinburgh. This is one of my favorite places to come and get away from the hectic life in the city. Can always recommend this place to visitors. #tripaway.
No need to pack it to Hawaii to hike up a volcano - try conquering one right in the middle of Scotland! Arthur's Seat rises up 822 feet above sea level, right in the midst of modern Edinburgh. A clear day will reward those who brave the summit with spectacular views of everything within 100km, as well as a sunset like no other (though a blanket or two might be needed!). Admission is free, and maps detailing the degrees of difficulty of the various hiking trails are available from the visitor's center.
It is windy all year round at this park, dress according to the weather to make the most of your time outdoors. The winds on the hill are strong around sunrise and sunset, if you are planning to visit at these times pack warm clothing.
