Mount Emei, one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains of China, located in Leshan City, is also one of the most beautiful mountains I have ever climbed.Came here during February, the night before was still snowing, can imagine how cold the weather is. Staircase to the mountains was filled with ice, very slippery, along the way will have many people trying to sell your their ‘spiking shoe’, do not get cheated as it will not help you at all. If you were lucky, you will meet the mountain monkeys family, don’t try to feed them as they will not satisfy with whatever you fed, they are picky, and will try to snatch your bag, my poor paper bag was torn by the naughty monkey. When finally reached the top of mountain, the view was stunning, awesome, so beautiful, and no words can describe how magnificent it is. Golden temple is shining on top of the mountain, it is so beautiful! Very lucky to catch a very short period of clear blue sky on a cloudy day.
Emei Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. The Buddhist Temple of Puxian Bodhisattva has a golden peak of 3079 meters above sea level. It belongs to a higher level in famous scenic spots. Moreover, because Emei Mountain is not a single peak, but a mountainous range, it is necessary to climb and descend several peaks in the process of climbing, which makes it difficult for hiking. The tour is divided into two routes: high mountain area and low mountain area. The main scenic spots in high mountain area are Jinding. The main scenic spots in low mountain area are Wannian Temple and ecological monkey area. There are three popular itineraries. The first one is three-day hiking, which is suitable for mountain climbing enthusiasts. It requires high physical and willpower. The night before climbing, people live at the foot of Baoguo Temple. There are many accommodations near the Food Street. Usually about 100 yuan can be settled. There is a bus directly from Leshan to Baoguo Temple. The fare is 11 yuan. The next morning, the mountain climbing started. The road from Baoguo Temple to Qingyin Pavilion was not steep, but there were basically no scenic spots. It was boring. After arriving at Qingyin Pavilion, the beautiful scenery continued. Along the way, there were a line of days, ecological monkey areas and so on. The monkeys were fierce and did not intentionally mess with each other. They arrived at Hongchunping before dark to stay there. The temple was 20 yuan a night, and the conditions were sloppy. Remember that night must have a good rest, because of this reason. For the devil, the next day Hong Chunping started his journey through three horrible sections of Mount Emei - "Ninety-nine turnings (known as roundabouts, watches the nearest road keep turning back and forth), drilling the slopes (known for danger, some slopes reach sixty or seventy degrees), even looking at the slopes (known for their long names, you can't see their names for a few eyes), and it tends to get late when climbing here. People are exhausted, and their mentality is close to collapse, so this is a ghost gate gate. If the three gates all survive the task of the next day, they can stay in Leiping Cave. If they feel that Leiping Cave is expensive, they can try to climb a little bit to Taiziping. The accommodation there is much cheaper. The third morning, Jinding sees the sunrise. The sunrise time is five o'clock in summer and seven o'clock in winter. Point. If you take a two-day hike, you will usually start from Wannian Temple in the morning, through Qingyin Pavilion, a line of days. Several main scenic spots in the low mountain areas of Monkey District arrive at Leidongping. You will get up at 3 or 4 o'clock the next day to see the sunrise. But this trip will be so fast that you can't enjoy the scenic spots and take pictures with your sightseeing mind. If you really can't reach Leidongping with enough foot, you will try to catch the road in the dark on that day anyway. We must arrive at Xixiangchi to live in the temple, because there are fewer buildings around it. It is very dangerous if we are stuck in the middle of the mountain road in the dark, but we can't see the sunrise the next day. Because we are too busy during the two-day hiking trip and the quality of the tour is low, so I don't recommend it. If you have three days and good foot strength, you can walk. If you have only two days, it is recommended to play two days separately in high mountains and low mountains. On the first morning, you should catch the first bus to Leidongping (usually the first bus at 5:30), then go to Jinding on the ropeway, play on the top of the mountain for one day, and go down to the scenic spot to live in Baoguo Temple (accommodation is several times cheaper than on the mountain). The next day, we bought the half year bus on the Wan Nian temple, and played the whole day along the low mountain route of the Wan Nian temple to the monkey area. Say so much and hope to help you all.
Mount Emei is about 3000 metres high. It doesn't feel difficult to walk up to the top of the mountains as you are able to take tour bus and cable car to mid-way. You do not have to walk all the way. The steps along the path are very well constructed and easy to walk. The golden buddha at the peak is magnificent! I suggest visitors to cater a full day to cover the whole place and spend some time worshipping in the temples. There are no proper restaurants selling food. Lunch can only male do with cup instant noodle sold by stall vendors.
Emei Mountain, if not on foot, must buy tickets are: ticket 160, shuttle bus 90, roundtrip ropeway 120, above is the ticket that must be consumed to Jinding, only on the Golden Peak journey: buy tickets to the Passenger Center at 6 am (ticket price is the same as on the Internet), drive at 7 o'clock, to Leipingdong around 9:00, where it takes about 30 minutes to walk up the mountain to the access hall. Take a 2-3 minute ride on the cable car to get you through the clouds to the Golden Peak. After swimming in Jinding, you can choose to go directly downhill and take the bus to Baoguo Temple, or to Wanguo Temple and other temples. I went straight down the hill. I was so lucky and sick that I didn't want to go anywhere else. Hahaha, the purpose of my coming to Mount Emei has been achieved.
Share the experience of climbing Mount Emei on May 1st, hoping to be helpful to friends who want to go. My tour routes in the scenic spot are: Baoguo Temple ~ Leiyin Temple ~ Chunyang Temple ~ Qingyin Pavilion ~Monkey District ~Xianfeng Temple ~Jiulinggang Accommodation ~Xiangchi ~Lingding Palace ~Jinding. I started from Chengdu and took the East Railway Station to Emeishan Station. I transferred to No. 12 Bus and got off at Baoguo Temple. Remember to buy a bamboo pole, can save a lot of physical strength. Climbing mountains is especially strenuous, so please prepare more energy drinks and food. I started from Baoguo Temple at 12 noon and walked all the way. At 6 p.m., it began to rain heavily. Then I walked for nearly 2 hours with an umbrella. Finally, I arrived at Jiuqiang at about 8 p.m. Take a night's rest here, and set off for the peak at 6 a.m. the next day. I saw the sunrise in the meantime. It's really a long time since I saw it. I feel that life is moving with joy. And the ten Buddhist Bodhisattvas of Jinding make people feel solemn and magnificent again! ___________ My greatest feeling: life lies in sports, sports lies in persistence!
Emeishan is one of the highlights to my Sichuan trip! Jinding, the Golden Summit, is the most notable place that I ended up staying here the most time. I even spent a night at Jinding which was the best decision! I also visited Qingyin Pavilion trail which was beautiful! I did not get to see the monkeys though.
incredible mountain!! cannot recommend it enough. it is expensive to enter the mountian at ¥160 but very much worth it especially if you do alot of hiking in the scenic area. for the best experience, stay in Leidongping overnight and then wake up early to hike to the Golden summit for sunrise. if you are fit, it will take 1.5 hours, otherwise if you start hiking 2-2.5 hours before sunrise that will be enough time for you to get to the top and secure a nice spot to watch the sunrise. my best tip is to take a warm jacket to the summit, even at the height of summer, early morning is very cold at the top.
Emeishan Scenic Area is located in the southwest of Sichuan Basin, 7 km southwest of Emeishan City and 37 km east of Leshan City. The scenic spot covers an area of about 154 square kilometers, with the highest peak at 3,099 meters above sea level. It is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. There are about 26 temples, eight important temples and frequent Buddhist events. Admired by the believers from all over the world, it is a demonstration site of Sichuan Scenic Spot and National Civilized Scenic Spot. On December 6, 1996, Leshan Grand Buddha in Emei Mountain was listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO as a dual cultural and natural heritage.
Only Golden Peak of Emei Mountain, other scenic spots have nothing to do with time. Golden Peak, you have to take a car, but also tickets, do ropeway, walk down, the scenery is very beautiful, the weather on the top of the mountain changes, when climbing a little hasty, dizzy. There is still a part of the top of the mountain under construction. Please pay attention to it. When crossing the monkey area, monkeys will grab things.
