  • Visiting Phoenix Ancient Town was magical 💫

    Fenghuang Ancient Town is this unreal slice of history tucked away in Hunan, China. With its stilted houses right on the river, winding cobblestone paths, and bridges that look amazing lit up at night, it's like walking into the past. It's perfect for anyone into history, culture, or just looking for some awesome photos. Definitely a must-see for an authentic peek into China’s rich heritage. Super picturesque and full of character. It was accessible by train directly from Zhangjiajie, can be visited as a day tour but I would definitely recommend staying at least one night since trains back to Zhangjiajie depart early. That way you can enjoy this picturesque town also at night. Bonus tip: if you rent an outfit and have a photoshoot, you can do it almost at sunset time, so you have both daytime and nighttime pictures 😉 #freehotelstay

Recommend to stay for a night to see the town when it’s lit up. The town is also filled with interesting shops/coffee/snacks and food.     You always have to come and see the border town described by Shen Congwen. Take a look at the Chang'an City that Mao Mao has longed for, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, stroll through the old streets and alleys, and feel the original appearance of life❤️ Choosing the right hotel for travel can make you feel comfortable both physically and mentally. I was attracted by the design of this hotel from the pictures. The combination of light and shadow architecture and nature exudes a sense of simplicity and sophistication. Only later did I learn that the owner of the hotel is a master of international design from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, and he personally designed the hotel, as well as the Fenghuang high-speed railway station. I was quite lucky to meet the owner at the hotel by chance, and learned that Fenghuang holds his childhood memories, and the hotel also incorporates his hometown sentiment.     After frequent visits to Fenghuang Ancient Town, I've stayed at different places each time, including by the river and in the alleys of the old town, but this hotel has been the most satisfying. I stayed for 3 nights in a row, and I'll head straight here next time I visit! 🎢Here are some tips I've gathered: 1⃣️Don't stay in the riverside alleys, the scenery is nice but it's too noisy 2⃣️It's best to stay near the Tourist Center, it's close to everywhere in the ancient town~ 2⃣️It only takes a few minutes to walk to attractions like Nanhua Mountain, Cui Cui Cruise, and Rainbow Bridge 🚶‍♀️ 3⃣️It's just a ten-minute taxi ride to Qiliang Cave and Nanhua Bridge 🚗 🏨Hotel features: ⛰️The owner is a designer who returned from overseas, and the hotel has a very sophisticated style! The room we stayed in had a 5-meter long bathtub, and looking out the window from the room was like viewing a scroll of landscape ink painting. There are also rooms with private hot springs, but unfortunately, they were occupied when we were there 😭 ⚠️It only takes half an hour to fill the bathtub, and it's really comfortable to soak in the bath while watching TV and snacking. After the bath, it's also a great spot for taking photos, the results are yyds‼️ 🎁Surprise Tips: ✔️Breakfast can be delivered to the room ✔️The rooftop has the only constant temperature infinity pool in Fenghuang Ancient Town, offering a panoramic view of the city ✔️You can have afternoon tea and cook tea by the stove on the rooftop, which is also a great spot for taking photos 📷 ✔️The soundproofing and blackout are great, it's not noisy at all at midnight 🎺

  • Fenghuang -at least a full day and night

    Fenghuang in Hunan is a beautiful town along a river that is well worth a visit. The ticket for 8 sites and a boat trip was 120 rmb and gives your wandering some focus, but I only spent about 10-15 minutes in each site and a lot of the information was not in English. The boat trip was good but only 20 minutes. At night there are queues for the boat trip so we went late afternoon

    Fenghuang (Phoenix) ancient town is situated around 4 hours (by road) from Zhangjiajie and is a cultural town with lots of picturesque scenes. The old town has a river running through the centre where there a lot of different activities taking place. A lot of the accommodation is mainly small B&Bs or hostels which are small and family owned. The prices of most things (particularly food and drink) is very expensive and catered towards the tourists who tend to visit for one or two days only. #tourism #china #Ancientown #summervacation #awesomepic

    Fenghuang was such a fun trip. I wasn’t supposed to visit it, but due to covid restrictions at Zhangjiajie I ended up having some free time to visit it. It’s not too turistic, so you can enjoy the town more. The atmosphere is calm, food is awesome, definitely recommended!
