The price is not so high, but the food is delicious, and the friends passing by are still worth a try.

La Carreta

This is the quintessential calle 8 (eighth street) Cuban place. There will be tour buses dropping off loads of people, but don&rsquo;t worry, the place is cavernous and they have room for you too. If you know what Cuban food is then you wont be disappointed. Don&rsquo;t forget the flan.

I had some friends coming from out of town and they were mesmerized. We did Friday night, first showing. Got there at 7:30. Show started at 8pm. Service was prompt. We got a great side table for 3. The Sangria was very delicious and in a large wine glass. The food portions were abundant and exquisite...but the dancers were eye-popping amazing! What a treat! There was a little girl in the audience front facing tables that was hypnotized the whole time. She was 2 years old. The Cuban dancer was spectacular! Her own style was breathtaking. She would arch backwards and then twist. So professional. She was beautiful and expressed so much passion in her dance style. The other dancer was also beautiful and spectacular. Different style. She would shake her shoulders as part of her style. Overall, it was very entertaining. This Quartet had great energy. The singer had an amazing voice! The guitarist was impressive as well. We got the special which included: show, dinner, drinks, tip included for $35 pp. You can also do a la carte and pay $10 for show. Food included: an appetizer of 8 choices, entrees were an abundant mix of chicken and good sized shrimp Paella, large flounder with veggies and a mash potato ball, long skirt steak (solomillo) with veggies and mash potato ball. Don&#39;t recall the others. That&#39;s what we had. Dessert not included. I give it 5 Stars and an extra 5 stars for the Cuban dancer....HOT HOT HOT! Oh, forced valet $5. GREAT VALUE!

Recommended to me by my older brother who is a food quality control specialist. The space is small but welcoming. The seating is communal and service adequate. The Spanish hams are of the highest quality and if you are looking for the Bellota Pata Negra-the are waiting for you at this spot. The Spanish Tortilla is by far the best I have eaten in the Miami area. The wine selection is small by highly selective and excellent. The Tapas selection are tightly matched to the wines. The soups and stews are made on site by La Vasca herself. All delicious! The selection of salt cod for sale is the best is the city-both frozen and salted. The tinned food is selective and diverse and recommended. What more to say about this unique small food store except say &quot; get there and eat something&quot; soon.
