Photos of Fort Worth Stockyards

In 1876, the arrival of the railroad made Fort Worth an important hub for cattle, sheep and livestock transportation. Until the 1960s, Fort Worth had a significant presence in the livestock industry in the United States. From 1866 to 1890, more than 4 million livestock were transported through Fort Worth, which became known as the "Cowboy Village." In order to truly reproduce the life of a cowboy in the 19th century in the American West to today's people, some volunteers still insist on driving the longhorn cattle through the streets of Stockyard every day.
