Zugspitze Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain
#spooktaculartrip #tripblazers #fallingforfall Atlast, we arrived at Zugspitze! We wanted to be here on the top a day before but we did not make because the day‘s limit was already reached, so they no longer sold any tickets. The online booking was not possible and what we did was we bought our tickets at the counter for the next day.
Zugspitze can be reached by a special train that starts at Garmisch-Partenkirchen Zugspitze station. The ticket costed 63€ per person and it was really worth it!
On the summit, you can find restaurants and cafes. There is also a museum that showed the history of Zugspitze, its train, the station, the people who built the station and those who were behind the scenes.
While on the summit, we clearly saw the beautiful Eibsee below us and it was stunning 🤩
Zugspitze is a very popular destination of germans and other nationals. The view on the top is breathtaking from in each season.
It was a great experience going up there on the top and everything was really worth the price ❤️

Zugspitze - the highest mountain in Germany
Cable cars run from Eibsee to the top of Zugspitze for panoramic views. There is a restaurant at the top with great food and stunning views. We were planning to head there for lunch to soak in all the views but unfortunately cable car tickets were sold out for the day (and the whole week). What a bummer. We were told to pre-book our tickets online ahead as they sell out fast, especially in winter.
Ended up playing snow at the foot of the mountain near the car park. Some families brought their sledge there to play and it looked like lots of fun.

The Zugspitze, at an altitude of 2,962 meters, belongs to the Alps and is the highest mountain in Germany.
This is near the Austrian border. There are two very rare glaciers in the mountains. It is a very famous glacier ski resort in Germany and the highest ski resort in winter.
Generally, you need to drive to the Ebou Lake cable car station and take the cable car to the top of the mountain. It takes about 2 hours for the cable car to line up. It is skiing on the mountain and it is very convenient to rent ski equipment.
Come here to experience the fun of skiing.
The spring and summer scenery here is also very good. There are mountains and lakes with grass and the photos are beautiful.

Eibsee Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Germany in October
1: Lake Eibsee 2: Saarschleife 3: Bacharach 4: Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Very beautiful places to visit though it might get a little bit cold during this period. Make sure to have your layers ready. An umbrella or waterproof layer could turn out useful as there was quite a lot of rainfall.
The fall foilage were spectacular during this period. Though it was raining, we braved the weather and did a few hikes. As soon as we reached the spots, the skies cleared up a little and we managed to absorb the beauty of it all!
Lake Eibsee, in close proximity to Zugspitze was the most unexpectedly gorgeous spots we visited. Very beautiful trekking paths through the lush plantations and a great view of the mountain reflected on the water body if you find the right spot!

Eibsee Lake
#newyearadventure
Eibsee ("yew lake") is a lake in Bavaria, Germany, 9 km southwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and roughly 100 km southwest of Munich. It is 973.28 metres (3,193.2 ft) above sea-level and its surface area is 177.4 hectares (438 acres). It is at the northerly base of the Zugspitze (2,950 metres (9,680 ft) above sea level and 3.5 km to the south), Germany's highest mountain. The lake lies within the municipality of Grainau and is privately-owned.
Directly at the bottom of the Zugspitze, lies one of the most beautiful lakes in the Bavarian Alps - the Eibsee. Formed more than 3000 years ago by a landslide, the mountain lake offers a variety of sporting activities and excursions.
In winter, the Eibsee with its picturesque winter landscape is absolutely worth seeing. The Eibsee circular trail is also passable in winter. In January, the lake is often completely frozen which gives the landscape something magical.
Guten Tag from German Alps 😻
#passionpassport The Bavarian Alps is a must see and easily accessed from Munich. Grainau is located at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany’s tallest mountain. A bike ride around Eibsee lake is out of this world and you can take a well deserved swim in the crystal clear Alpine waters to cool off. Another must do activity is to take the traditional cog-wheel train or the modern chair lift to the top of Zugspitze - the terrain and views are incredible! #staycation #gooutside #infinitypool #mountainview #germany #travel

Before you should try your first beer and get some classical Bavarian food, it is a must do to walk around this lake next to the highest mountain of Germany!

Partnachklamm Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Partnachklamm
Partnachklamm is a wonderful place.
To get to this place, you can use train from Munich central station to Garmisch Partenkirchen, sometimes the train only until Murnau, means from Murnau you have to use SEV Bus to Garmisch Partenkirchen (because some reparations with the train rails).
From Garmisch Partenkirchen, you should take bus 1/2 to stadium. From there you can walk about 10 minutes the the entrance of Partnachklamm. For the entry ticket cost 6€ (pay cash or card) both available.
The temperature in summer is quite fresh (a bit cold) if you are using shorts or if you’re from summer land 😅
So make sure you use comfortable clothes. If you have trekking shoes, would be better for the forest after Partnachklamm.
Recommendation
- go early in the morning, the best is take train on 7 or 8 am. You will be in Partnachklamm early, so not many people there.
- don’t forget bring some snacks.
- enjoy the nature/river at the end of Partnachklamm.
- continue tracking back to the entry through the forest, you will enjoy the trip.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen has a lot to offer! One of the best place to visit there is the Partnachklamm!
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is accessible by car and by train. It is near Munich taking a train ride from Munich is less than 2 hours.
We still had enough time to do something in Garmish-Partenkirchen, we decided to go to Partnachklamm Gorge. Since it was unplanned, we did not have the right outfit for that fieldtrip!
Walking inside the cave that brought us to the other side of the mountain was a thrilling experience 😊
The path was mostly dark, wet with some puddles and beware of the falling water showers from the falls if you don‘t want to come out like fresh from the shower 😅
If you want to visit Garmish-Partenkirchen and want to experience the Partnachklamm, a rain jacket, a pair of waterproof shoes and a flashlight are a must!
The place is beautiful and somewhat magical! Visiting Partnachklamm was one of the best experiences I‘ve had on this trip! I had the chance to take the oldest small cabin cable car in the world!

Partnach Gorge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
The beautiful natural wonder Partnach Gorge
Located down south of Munich, is the partnachklamm, a scenic hike with a scenic waterfall and is very popular among locals and foreigners especially for those hiking enthusiasts.
As its closer to the winter months, this place might can abit icy depending on the weather, so do check the weather forecast before you head out for a hike.
The Partnach Gorge has a round trip hike of approx 90mins and is relatively easy with a total of about 5km walk, of course this Gorge isn't ideal for swimming due to its strong current and this stream comes from the nearby mountain called the partnacher felsenturme which is also actually a popular ski mountain resort.
