This cathedral is the famous church of Calvin of the reformation. Most of it is very Spartan with all decorations, icons, and statues having been removed. However there is one chapel that has retained all of the original decor in all its glory. It's quite an eye opener.
Located at the top of the old town, this Cathedral is a mixture of styles, as it was built for years long. It holds a tower with a 360 view of the city and an archeological museum.
St. Peter's Basilica, built on the site of the 4th century Roman temple, has been renovated several times to accommodate different architectural styles. St. Peter's Basilica is important because Calvin, the founder of Protestant thought, was here and next to Calvin's lecture hall to promote his religious ideas, which are the hallmarks of the Reformation. You can also climb the towers to the north of the church, and get a panoramic view of Lake Lemon and Geneva.
It's a majestic church. Just come and see it when you pass by. It's not bad.
