Miss the blue of the southernmost Europe.
I once had the privilege of visiting the southernmost region of Europe - Gibraltar. This place is located on the southern coast of Spain, and is a small but mysterious and historic land.
When I first arrived in Gibraltar, I was attracted by its unique natural scenery. The terrain here is higher, with towering peaks and beautiful surroundings, as well as blue skies, white clouds, and brilliant sunshine, which make people feel happy both physically and mentally.
Apart from that, Gibraltar also has many attractions and scenic spots worth visiting. The most famous of these is undoubtedly the Rock of Gibraltar. This towering mountain reaches a height of 425 meters and offers a panoramic view of Gibraltar and the surrounding sea from its summit. In addition, Gibraltar is also home to the world-renowned "Monkey Island", the only place in Europe where wild macaques roam freely, making it a very interesting destination.
In Gibraltar, I also visited local museums and historical sites, including the Gibraltar Castle, St. Michael's Cave, St. Bernard's Church, etc. These are all important places that reflect the history and culture of Gibraltar.
In short, although Gibraltar is not big, it has unique natural scenery and rich historical and cultural heritage, which is worth a visit. If you plan to travel to Spain, why not take some time to come here and experience the unique charm of the southernmost part of Europe!
Gibraltar: the gateway to the Mediterranean Sea.
The famous Strait of Gibraltar controls the access to and from the Mediterranean Sea. Due to its strategic location, Gibraltar is still managed by the United Kingdom. Therefore, visiting Gibraltar is like visiting another country! The most important attraction in Gibraltar is the Rock of Gibraltar, which can be reached by cable car from the city center. While enjoying the view of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, you can also visit Europa Point, the southernmost point of the Rock of Gibraltar. On a clear day, you can see North Africa across the strait.
Transportation: Take the Altaria high-speed train from Madrid or Cordoba to Algeciras, then transfer to bus route 120 to La Linea. From there, you can cross the border on foot and reach Gibraltar. La Linea also has buses that go directly to major cities in Andalusia.
octavia_serenemorgenstern Experience the Magic of the Rock of Gibraltar
The Rock of Gibraltar is a truly iconic destination, and is a must-see for any visitor to the region. The rock itself is a limestone promontory that rises over 400 meters above the surrounding area, and has been a strategic military location for centuries.
One of the most popular attractions at the Rock of Gibraltar is the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including over 300 species of plants and over 200 species of birds. The nature reserve can be explored on foot or by taking a guided tour, and there are several viewpoints along the way where you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Another must-see attraction at the Rock of Gibraltar is the Gibraltar Cable Car, which takes visitors up to the top of the rock where they can visit the famous Gibraltar Apes. These monkeys, which are actually Barbary macaques, are the only wild monkeys in Europe and are a popular attraction for visitors to the rock.
In addition to the natural beauty and wildlife, the Rock of Gibraltar also has a rich history and cultural significance. The city of Gibraltar has been ruled by a number of different powers over the centuries, including the Moors, the Spanish, and the British, and this history is evident in the architecture and cultural influences that can be seen throughout the city.
Overall, the Rock of Gibraltar is a truly unique and memorable destination that should not be missed on a visit to the region. Whether you're looking to explore the stunning natural beauty of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, visit the famous Gibraltar Apes, or learn about the rich history and culture of the city, the Rock of Gibraltar has something for everyone.

St Michael's Cave Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Beautiful Limestone Cave
St Michael Cave is a name given to a network of limestone caves, located within the Upper Rock Nature Reserve in Gibraltar, at a height of above 300 meters.
The cave was created by rainwater slowly seeping through the limestone rock, turning into a weak carbonic acid which gradually dissolved the rocks, so numerous stalactites and stalagmites in the cave were formed.
The largest of the chambers, named the Cathedral Cave, currently serves as an auditorium. It was converted due to the chamber's natural acoustic properties. It is equipped with a concrete stage and has a seating capacity of over 100.
The cave is one of Gibraltar's top tourist attractions and is open daily. The cave formations are colourfully lit and visitors can read displays documenting the cave's history.
Gibraltar Caves, A Majestic Sight To See
#wecreate #england #cave #sightseeing #tripblazers #explore #gibraltar #unesco
Gibraltar is a popular tourists attraction located in UK which is also called the hollow cave. There are many hollow cave due to all these erosion by sea and winds on the limestone rocks.
This is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage, due to the unique rock formation from stalagtities and limestone. Some can even be more than 500 feet deep!
Visiting the cave can be quite an amazing sight to see especially when the caves are being lighted up with colourful lights which reflects onto the rocks and hollow spaces. Of course, this isn't wheel chair friendly due to the many steps in the caves and do alsp require an entrance fee.
