Kunlun Mountain Pass Photos

The Kunlun Mountain Pass is a must pass through Qinghai and Gansu provinces to Tibet. Kunlun Mountain is 2,500 kilometers long from east to west, with an average altitude of 5,000 meters. It stands in the south of Golmud City. The Kunlun Mountains are full of ravines and valleys, which contain endless beauty, mystery and richness. The Karakunlun Mountains in the western section are the natural boundary between the Tarim Basin and the Northern Tibet Plateau. The Eastern Kunlun Mountains are composed of three major mountain systems, the northern branch of the Altun Mountains - Qilian Mountains, the middle branch of the Kunlun Mountains, and the southern branch of the Tanggula Mountains. Standing on the Kunlun Mountain Pass, you can see the east and west Kunlun. Looking to the east, in the silence of the ancient snowy fields, Yuxu Peak stands alone, overwhelming the mountains, creating a unique natural landscape in the world of ice and snow. The Kunlun Mountain Pass is a desert landform in the permafrost area. The geological system is composed of complex metamorphic rocks that have been strongly eroded in ancient times, and there are hills, low mountains and ridges composed of Tertiary sediments. The mountain slopes and valleys grow plum, tiger claw, and other plateau permafrost desert wild plants. On the south side of Kunlun Mountain, there are the Kunlun Mountain Pass Monument and Jaisan Sonam Dajie Monument, commemorating the excellent son of the Tibetan who died to protect the wild animals in Hoh Xil.
