Shika in Tibetan refers to a mountain abounding in red deer, one of the auspicious animals in Tibetan Buddhism. It is said when Sakyamuni began to preach Buddhism in the Deer Park, two deer listened to him attentively in knee-down posture. Therefore, deer stands for common people and is regarded as mascots in Tibetan Buddhism. It is the symbol of longevity and justice. So it is regarded as a holy mountain for the local Tibetans. #china #yunnantravel #yunnan #landscapes #mountains #shangri-la #awesomepic #unforgettableexperiences #travelinspiration #naturalwonders #backpacking #photographyheaven
TANG
There is basically no snow in June. The top of the mountain overlooks other peaks. Some small snow can be seen sporadically. The Shika Snow Mountain without snow is indeed a bit inferior. Fortunately, there are blue sky and white clouds, and some azaleas.
The top of the mountain hangs a wish card, there is no clear price tag, 30 yuan a, Xiaogui.
Walk around in a clockwise direction, walk along the boardwalk, don't get lost, mainly look at two snowy mountains, Meili Snow Mountain and Biluo Snow Mountain
from the map, down the wood path, you can Walking to the Blue Moon Valley Scenic Spot, but this section of the road is now closed, not allowed to go, but also to find the staff to determine, and now does not open.
tips
About the cable car

middle need to transfer Can not sit directly on the top or directly down the bottom
because there are 3 / 4 cable cars coming over, so miss a cable car, often need to wait a few minutes.

The place where Shangri-La is called the sun and the moon in the heart is not exaggerated or excessive. In such a mysterious world, all the irritability can quickly be forgotten.
Shika Snow Mountain with a height of 4,500 meters can be described as snow all year round. At certain festivals, local residents will also go to the top of the mountain to worship, and the scene is also very shocking.
More about Shangri-La's tips, welcome to follow my Trip review for details.

come to Shangri-La, only to worship such a spiritual mountain, it is worthwhile.
Shika Snow Mountain is located in the southwest of Shangri-La County, about 7 kilometers from the county and adjacent to Napa Sea. In the local Tibetan language, Shika Snow Mountain means "mountain with red deer". Although it is called snow mountain, the rocks are exposed when the spring comes. In the lower mountains, the meadows are dense and the azaleas are in full bloom. It's pleasant to wander among there.
It was stunning! liked the top of the mountain and a small village in a valley.
HORRIBLE experience. I have no doubt that the view from the top is amazing, and I don’t doubt the pictures and good posted by others, but my experience was terrible. My girlfriend and I were traveling in the area in December, so it’s a pretty windy time of the year. Because of this, cable cars may not go all the way to the top. When we arrived at the ticket station, they encouraged us to go up because even though that the moment cars were going only to the middle station, it was still morning (around 9:30am) and they may still allow cars to go up to the top. when we got to the middle, they told us that to walk around the valley and they’d come find us and let us know either way I’d we’d be able to get to the top. We liked around for an hour and a half and since no one came by we assumed that the cars weren’t opening. When we got back to the cable car station, they told us that about a half hour after we left they knew for sure we wouldn’t be able to go up! when my girlfriend (who is Chinese) complained that they didn’t let us know as promised, they essentially said that it wasn’t their problem or their fault. The same thing happened when we complained after going back down, and the workers had a very rude “it’s not my problem” attitude towards our concerns, even though they encouraged us to go up. This is especially upsetting because the scenery in the valley at the middle station was very boring (few free to judge by the pictures I took). Maybe it’s better in other seasons, I don’t know, but if you are going up there during the winter, make sure to call ahead and make sure the car goes all the way up, otherwise just going to the middle is not worth it, and also don’t expect good customer service if you have any concerns.
This is not worth it. The scenery is better at Napahai lake. The cable car is long, slow, and the top of mountain is not very scenic. The staff are rude and not helpful. There are many other great places to visit in Shangri-la but this is not one of them. This was a disappointing, waste of a day
The top of the mountain is beautiful, there is no snow in summer, and there are not many people. The ropeway is divided into two sections. There is a transfer in the middle. It is recommended to go to a grassland in the middle when coming down from the top of the mountain. There are many yaks and a sow leading a pig. Babies (maybe the pig mother was killed when you went) There is also a herdsman’s shed, selling barbecue and yak milk, 5 yuan a string for 5 yuan a cup, you can WeChat, they are very enthusiastic, in short, everything in Shangri-La is me The most souvenir place for Yunnan
I really like it! In the absence of people in line, the two cable car time plus waiting for the cable car, one-way definitely more than 40 minutes. It's very comfortable to go up to the top of the mountain first, then go down to hike. There is no snow this season, which is a little regretful, but there are not many people, so it is more comfortable to play. [Scenery] The weather in Shangri-La these days is normal, from cloudy to rain, and the weather on the plateau is indeed changeable, so I did not see the beautiful sky and the important snow-capped mountains. But I like the scenery along the ropeway, there are purple pine cones, I saw it for the first time. I also saw that water vapor quickly formed clouds and then turned into rain and returned to the earth. I felt that nature was really amazing. [Value for money] I bought tickets directly on Ctrip, which is 110. Need to go to the scene to exchange tickets. I don't know if it is due to the off-season, the parking lot does not charge. Get the tickets, I read that the regular price is 220 yuan for the round trip cable car and 30 yuan for the big ticket. So now it is equivalent to receiving half of the cable car ticket, and then the big ticket is free, which is still a good deal.
