What people are saying:

In the middle of Retiro Park is a beautiful crystal palace, a building that combines metal and glass elements. It is matched with the artificial lake in front of the crystal palace, as if it were in the fairy tale world.

Additional Information

Introduction

Palacio de Cristal Art Museum, located in Central Madrid and built in the year 1887 is an incredible structure of iron and glass. This Art Museum was originally built to display the exotic varieties of plants and animals that were brought back to Spain from Philippines. Today, the museums walls house striking contemporary art exhibitions. Spending a day with an espresso mulling over the beautiful pieces of arts that are exhibited in the museum refreshes the mind. Visitors can rent a boat to admire the birds and scenery in the adjacent artificial lake which provides the habitat for ducks, swans and geese and can see them gliding through the peaceful waters. The incredible architectural feat of the museum can be viewed from the lake by the visitors and enjoyed.
