Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (JZH): Often referred to as Jiuhuang Airport, this is the primary air hub for Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. It connects to major cities, such as Chengdu. Located in Songpan County, the airport is about 88 km (55 miles) from Jiuzhaigou, roughly a 1.5-hour drive. Regular shuttle buses operated by the airport transport company run directly to the Jiuzhaigou scenic area.

Huanglong Jiuzhai Railway Station: This high-speed rail station offers a fast connection from Chengdu East Station, with the quickest journey taking just 1 hour and 39 minutes. The station is approximately 90 km (56 miles) from Jiuzhaigou, about a 2-hour drive. Visitors can take a direct shuttle bus or taxi to the scenic area.

Long-Distance Bus: Buses to Jiuzhaigou depart from Chengdu, Gansu, and Mianyang. Key bus terminals include the Jiuzhaigou County Bus Station in the county center and the Jiuzhaigou Entrance Bus Station in Zhangzha Town, near the scenic area’s entrance. The bus journey from Chengdu typically takes 8–10 hours, depending on the route and service.

Driving: Driving from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou is a popular option for those seeking flexibility. Two main routes are available:

  • West Route: Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou via Dujiangyan, Wenchuan, Maoxian, and Songpan (approx. 440 km/273 miles).
