是雏菊啊是雏菊啊Nanning Polar Ocean World is definitely worth a visit! It has many pavilions and exhibits, each filled with surprises. There's even a white wolf and an underwater tunnel with lots of fish, making it feel like taking photos in the deep sea – so beautiful! The jellyfish move around under the light, displaying many beautiful colors. The penguins are carrying rocks back and forth, like they're moving house. The dolphin and sea lion show is fantastic; you can sit in the front row and get up close to the dolphins, who can even balance balls on their heads! The mermaids' dance is beautiful, and the Golden Storm show is amazing. The mermaids even did a dance at the end, which was also very charming. I took my child to see it, and they loved it – a very happy day!

Local Language

Nanning, a culturally diverse city, is home to various languages due to its ethnic diversity and historical influences. Mandarin Chinese is the official language, widely spoken by the younger population, thanks to government efforts. Older residents often speak Cantonese, and the Zhuang language is prevalent among the local Zhuang community. Translation and interpretation services are crucial for business and tourism.  For effective communication, visitors can use translation apps, gestures, and facial expressions.

Local APP

Alipay: Ubiquitous in China, Alipay is used for simple payments by scanning QR codes and offers a 'Transport' feature for accessible public transportation and taxi services.

WeChat: Essential for both communication and transactions, WeChat serves as a digital wallet and offers a 'live location' feature to assist in navigating new cities.

MetroMan: A helpful app to navigate the metro systems of major Chinese cities, simplifying route planning and cost calculation.

Baidu Maps: The go-to mapping app in China, providing accurate, real-time directions and location services superior to other mapping options.

Dianping: A top choice for discovering nearby restaurants, combining user reviews and food ordering services.

Internet and Communication

Mobile data packages for immigrants in China are available through local carriers such as China Mobile and Unicom. China Mobile offers prepaid data SIM cards with unlimited text messages and calls within China, and high-speed connections, sometimes even 5G. Unicom provides SIM cards with data packs that include unlimited music applications, and both do not require long-term contracts. Prices for eSIMs with unlimited data start at just $6 for China.

Public WiFi in China is widely available in places like airports, restaurants, coffee shops, and malls. However, connecting to these networks often requires a Chinese phone number for text verification, which can be a challenge for travelers without a local SIM card. Global WiFi devices like Skyroam can be a convenient alternative, offering the ability to connect multiple devices and requiring no additional setup upon arrival in China.

Weather

Nanning experiences a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The city receives abundant rainfall, especially from February to August, with an annual average of around 1300 millimeters. Winters are frost-free, and snowfall is rare. When packing for Nanning, it is advisable to include warm clothes for winter, lighter layers with a sweater for spring and autumn, and T-shirts with skirts, shorts, or slacks for the hot summer months. Always carry an umbrella due to the rainy season, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended year-round. For protection against the sun and heat, bring sunblock, a hat, and possibly insect repellent. Be prepared for high humidity levels and occasional typhoons, which may pass through the area from June to early November.

Currency and Payment

In Nanning, popular payment methods include Alipay, Weixin Pay, and the use of foreign bank cards.

Alipay and Weixin Pay are mobile payment platforms that do not require identification for transactions under a certain amount.

Credit cards like Visa and MasterCard are also linked with Alipay to facilitate payments at numerous local businesses.

Be mindful that for transactions over a certain threshold, identification may be needed when using mobile payments. Furthermore, the acceptance of foreign bank cards is part of an ongoing improvement, so it's best to confirm their acceptability at specific locations.
