Yongning Zhou Ancient City

The ancient city of Yongningzhou is located at the northern end of Baishou Town, Yongfu County, Guilin City, Guangxi, across the river from Baishou Rock. The ancient city of Yongningzhou was built in the thirteenth year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1477), and it has experienced 529 years of ups and downs. The ancient city was originally a Tucheng with a circumference of about 1,000 meters, a height of 5 meters and a thickness of more than 2 meters. In the 18th year of Chenghua, it was rebuilt into a stone city; in the sixth year of Longqing (1572), the ancient city was expanded by more than 80 meters to the west, and four gates were built. The east gate was called "Dongxing Gate", the south gate was called "Zhenning Gate", and the west gate It is called "Andingmen", and the north gate is "Yingenmen". In the third year of Wanli, the height of the city wall was increased to 1.3 meters, and the thickness was increased to 0.6 meters; in the eighth year of Wanli (1580), the ancient city was expanded by 100 meters to the north, and the perimeter of the city was expanded to 1277 meters, 6.33 meters high and 3.2 meters thick. There are 637 city towers, 12 nests, 4 soldiers and horse divisions, and gate towers are built on top of the four city gates. In the 14th year of Wanli (1586), a moat of more than 430 meters was built in the east of the ancient city, the city wall was thickened again, and a parapet wall was added.
