My Son Sanctuary - the ruined temples
Location: Duy Phú, Duy Xuyên District, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
About 45 mins drive from Hoi An old town, we came to visit the ruined Hindo temples that were constructed between the 4th and the 14th century by the Kings of Champa, an Indianized kingdom of the Cham people (according to Wikipedia :)
I have been to a number of Hindu Temples, of which Angkor Wat being the greatest, Bali as well as Thailand Ayutthaya, there almost resemble some similarities in somewhere or what not. My Son Sanctuary was considered a smaller scale with 7 sites, (B,C,D is the biggest complex of the ruins) if I could compare, but it's still worth a visit.
Tickets cost 150.000 VND for adults and 40.000 VND for children. There are few ways to get here, but we have hired a local driver that makes our time more flexible to travel from one place to another.
I shall share more places that we visited in my next posts.

one of my favourite places I’ve been toit was so unique and full of culture we also saw a Vietnamese performance at the end
Quite interesting site if you want to experience Cham culture. Unfortunately it's mostly ruins. Quite a bit of walking but at least there's a free shuttle to the site from the entrance (saves 2K).150,000 entrance fee.5,000 motorbike parking.
The Meishan site is located in Meishan Village, Weifu Township, Weichuan County, Guangnan Province, Vietnam, 60 kilometers southwest of Da Nang City. The beautiful mountains surrounded by forests and green waters are the most important sacred sites left by the once prosperous Zhanpo Kingdom, where the construction of towers, stone carving art and aesthetics of the Zhanpo people have been most perfected.
A beautiful temple complex quite easily accessible from Hoi An and Danang. It does get *very* hot, so come prepared. There's crazy amount of history here, so might be worth getting a guide. Definitely a must see.
The Meyama Holy Land is one of the world cultural heritages of Central Vietnam, but unfortunately it was destroyed in the Vietnam War, similar to Angkor Wat!
Meishan Site, Langang is a famous scenic spot. It's called Little Angkor Wat, but because of the war, it's totally different. But if you look carefully, you can still see that it must have been a place of great fragrance before. Some sculptures are still beautiful. Some sculptures are incomplete, but they can not hide the glory of the past. Anyone interested in archaeology must like this place, which is said to represent the history of Vietnam.
