Xilai Temple is located in the downtown area of Ledu. It is currently also the location of the Ledu District Cultural Relics Administration and the Ledu District Museum. The whole wall is carved in half-dimensional relief of landscape, characters, buildings, trees, rare birds, exotic animals, etc. The temple is well preserved, Xilai Temple is now Ledu County Museum of Historical and Cultural Relics, displaying the collection and unearthed precious cultural relics in Ledu area, as well as the 24 Ming Dynasty reel Buddha portraits left by the original monastery.

Xilai Temple faces the Liujiang River, one of the ancient temples in Liuzhou City, and the temple is named after the Damo ancestors from the West of Tianyu or the Buddha scriptures from the West of Tianyu.
