In the era of Shinkansen, from Hanguan to Aomori on Honshu Island, it took only one hour to walk through the submarine tunnel. But twenty or thirty years ago, when the traffic was not so convenient, it was a ferry like the Mochou Maru that connected Hokkaido with Honshu Island. Like the ferry connecting Hainan Island to Guangdong, it can carry passengers and vehicles. Mozhou Maru can carry 1200 passengers, 48 trucks and a variety of living materials. Now, of course, there are more advanced and faster modes of transportation. Such ferries have stopped sailing. Once the vessel was resold or dismantled, only the Mochou Maru was left to recall the past of the Qing Letter Liaison Vessel.
The ship has been docked at Hanguan Railway Station, more precisely on the coast behind Hanguan City. It's a blue-and-white ship, not too big in tonnage, but in our tiny flesh, it's a huge thing. This is a retired ship, which has been docked here for a long time. It is also used as a general exhibition. For a personal visit, the ticket is 500 yen. But more often it is group participation, especially some local pupils come to practice as probationers.
Before the opening of Hokkaido Shinkansen Line, Hanguan and Aomori across the Jinqing Strait were connected by the Mochou Maru Ferry, which transported goods and messages. With the development of the city, such backward means of transportation are being phased out step by step. I don't know if the fast boats in Hong Kong and Macao piers will gradually withdraw from the history after the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and become a commemorative ship like Mochou Maru.
Near Hanguan Station, this passenger ship docked at the wharf was an important means of transportation connecting Hokkaido with this week in the old days when there was no Shinkansen. Although it has withdrawn from the historical stage, it is still worth visiting.
I don't know if it means that the ship I saw didn't have a good look at it when it snowed heavily in the winter on the sea not far from the city.
The whistle and flute sounds from the whole point shocked the whole body. The ferry was so huge that it could be taken as a souvenir.
The scenery is beautiful, but it's sunny. It's convenient for transportation.
