The Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse has become a symbol of Hakodate Port, witnessing the changing times. The Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse has now been transformed into a lively shopping area, and a Hakodate Historic Square has also been set up. It has a strong Meiji period style and is composed of a part of the Kanamori warehouse group that is connected by six buildings. The shopping area consisting of about 20 boutiques across the country is a big selling point. Others include restaurants and beer halls.
