The Qiantang River Bridge, also known as the First Qiantang River Bridge, is a double-layer truss girder bridge across the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It is located on the Qiantang River near the Liuhe Pagoda in the south of the West Lake. It was developed by Chinese bridge expert Mao Yi Sheng presided over the design. It is the first double-deck railway and highway bridge designed and built by China. The Qiantang River Bridge was built on August 8 in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934); [2] The railway bridge and the road bridge were completed and opened to traffic on September 26 and November 17 in the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937); [3] It was blown up on December 23 in the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937) to prevent the Japanese invaders from going south; it was successfully restored in May of the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948). This bridge is not very beautiful, but it is famous, probably because of the name of Qiantang River! On a business trip to Hangzhou, I also took a bicycle through the West Lake to see the riverside, but I was not so disappointed at night.
