Hanzhong Shimen Catwalk Scenic Area. Hanzhong is a, small city located in place where Shaanxi province borders Sichuan. Yes, the city is surrounded by many hills and it's moderate climate allows to culture tea there.
Well, this scenic area depicted below is one if the most important landmarks around the city. It easy to be reached by public transportation. Scenic spot includes installations, regional history introduction, sculptures, bridges and... of course serpent shaped pathways going through the hills behind the city dam. Pretty interesting place for exploration.
The Shimen Plank Road has both the rich historical and cultural heritage of the two Han and Three Kingdoms, as well as many unique and beautiful natural scenery. The mountains here are steep, strange rocks and green peaks. The completion of the
Shimen Reservoir is even more icing on the cake
"It is difficult to get through the road, it is difficult to go to the sky." The
Shimen Plane Road is built along the cliffs of the cliffs. It runs from the Hanzhong Valley in the south and goes to the Meiguan County in the north. It is one of the earliest artificial traffic tunnels in the world. Walking through the Shimen Plank Road, the mountain is steep and strange, and I have to sigh with its shock.
The Shimen (“stone gate”) Catwalk Scenic Area is about 15 kilometers north of Hanzhong City. The original Shimen Catwalk was inundated in 1969 so that reservoir repairs could be undertaken. Later, a recreation of the original ancient Shimen Catwalk was built and raised 70 meters above the original. The replica Shimen Catwalk is almost 3 kilometers long and built exactly like the original. The remains of an official travel stop, courier station, and loading station in the style of the Han era have even been restored. The scenic area has entrance gates on both the east and west sides of the Bao River. Most visitors enter from the western entrance.
