The Kamakou Reserve is a relatively unwelcome attraction, of course because of the hiking requirement. But the views are really good, if you like hiking, it is highly recommended.
Walk along the Pepe Opae Trail and feel the evolution of nature over three million years. This is a star-rated tourism project in the Camacou region. There are fog forests, swamps and shrubland in this reserve.
The Pepe Opae Trail is 1.5 miles long and is an extremely narrow wooden plank road uphill, which makes you sometimes feel like walking a tightrope. Rough metal grilles are paved on the road to prevent pedestrians from falling.
