Photos of Mingjiao Temple

Mingjiao Temple was rebuilt from Jiao Nutai and is located next to Xiaoyaojin Park in Hefei City, Anhui Province, China. The monastery was built in the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasties, and by the end of the Sui Dynasty, the monastery was abandoned. In 766-779 AD, a statue of Iron Buddha was excavated in the ruins, and the imperial court was recorded on Pei silk, the prefect of Luzhou. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed "Mingjiao Temple". After repeated success and failure. By 1853, it was destroyed by war. It was rebuilt during the Guangxu period. In the winter of 1937, part of the temple building was bombed by Japanese aircraft. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the relevant government departments allocated funds for repairs. In 1983, the monastery was designated as a national key monastery in the Han area. Mingjiao Temple has a long history and majestic architecture. In the Qing Dynasty, it was the crown of the temples in Hefei City. Existing buildings include Shanmen, Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, Dizang Hall, living room, dormitory and so on. Another "guixi mound" located on the west side of Tingsong Pavilion is named after the mythical tortoise and chicken buried there.
