Hotan Museum

Hotan Ancient called Yu Xuan, etc., has been an economic and military town since ancient times. The treasure of the town hall is a five-star oriental Chinese tapestry. The new museum is located at No. 342 Beijing West Road. The museum is a comprehensive museum built by Beijing Municipality and also serves as a branch of the Beijing Museum. The total construction area is 13,493 square meters, divided into three floors, and the exhibition hall area is 6,160 square meters. The collection of cultural relics includes more than 40,000 cultural relics such as bronzeware, pottery, jade, coins, and other kinds of cultural relics, which belong to 559 precious cultural relics. Among them, the treasure of the town hall "five-star out of the East and Li China" Jinhu is a particularly precious cultural relics of the museum. The "Five-Star Out of Oriental Li China" Jin Huchi was unearthed at the Niya site in Minfeng County, Hotan in 1995, one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century in China's archaeological community, and the only cultural relics in Xinjiang that are prohibited from going abroad for exhibitions. The pattern of Jinhu woven with five-star maps, auspicious birds and animals, and the words "five-star out of Oriental Li China" are placed between the pattern, which has become the treasure of the town hall of Hotan and even Xinjiang Museum.

In 1981, the "Hotan Cultural Relics Showroom" was established on the basis of collecting cultural relics from various counties and cities. In 1995, Japanese friend Mr. Kangyu Xiaodao donated 1 million yuan to the new Hotan Museum. With the care and support of the leaders at the national, autonomous region and regional levels, the Hotan Museum project officially began in April 2001, and invested 7.2 million yuan before and after.
