According to reports, the fish here is raised by yourself, and this is a chain restaurant, but whether it is a chain or not, the dishes taste very good, delicate and fresh! The service is also very enthusiastic, there is no problem with English
Being the third time in Japan it was about time to finally try some Fugu. This restaurant is part of a chain and as they breed their own fish, they can offer some of the best prices you'll find around Japan. At least we found only more expensive ones. Also they have an English menu, so that we actually did understand what part of the pufferfish we were eating. You can either chose a set menu with prices starting at just under 4000 Yen or order the dishes a la carte. We ordered one menu of 5 and one menu of 9 courses so we could try almost everything. In addition we ordered one sake with a Fugu fin that was flambéd at the table. It was funny to look at but the taste was pretty gross. But I'm not really a fan of sake anyway. The other dishes I remember were a Fugu skin salad, a thick and a thinly sliced sashimi, deep fried Fugu, some kind of porridge, chabu chabu and some completely fish free ice cream as a dessert. There were a couple more dishes that I already forgot. The thick sashimi and the deep fried Fugu were our favorites. But everything else was good too. Or at least edible. It's obviously a very Japanese meal, so only go there if you eat at least some sushi that is not only tuna or salmon. Fugu is raw quite chewy and I am glad we didn't try it the first time we've been to Japan. Back then we couldn't have enjoyed it. Now we are a lot more comfortable with the Japanese kitchen. The restaurant itself is as well very nice. Simple, Japanese style. Staff was really friendly and attentive, but spoke just very little English. But as the menu is in English and has some pictures you should be fine anyway. And last the most important thing... as mentioned before: We did survive this experience. Because in the end, that is what it is mostly about. Experiencing and surviving this infamous fish. It was great, tasty and a lot of fun. You should try it. BTW, we paid for two people with a couple beers and way too much food around 18 000 Yen. But we really ordered almost eve
Today’s price/performance ratio is not bad, the consumer prices here are generally not high, but the service is not bad, and the dishes are pretty good, and the local reputation is also good.
