Title says its all. Huge line to get in, not too pricey, the lemon mayonnaise and the lemon tobasco sauces are worth trying without a double. Quality of the okonomiyaki was so good. This place seems to be more of a local joint as opposed to the building full of the restaurants in the centre of the city. Up there with the best food I've had in Japan. Happy days.
This was one of the best restaurants have been to in Japan. Considering that Hiroshima is quite the tourist town, this is an authentic experience, full of locals (the English menu is handy though). We went a couple of times and had to wait for a bit on both occasions, but it was well worth it. The okonomiyaki is different to other cities and so oishii! We also had the Yaki Udon which was very good. Also very affordable at about 1,100yen for the deluxe okonomiyaki. Easily one of the best meals we've had in Japan!
This restaurant was really good, located just near the police station it serves the local Hiroshima dish from around ¥1000, which I can assure you is more than enough food for one person. The staff are really friendly and sitting up at the counter eating straight off the hot plate is to be advised. The sign has now changed out the front so please see the photo I uploaded to help find it.
I had really wanted to try an okonomiyaki whilst in Hiroshima and was very pleased to have one here (recommended by our hotel).Firstly, it is very close to the railway station so easy to find; it feels like a really authentic experience with local workers filling the tables and bar area. Staff were friendly and helpful and there is an English menu which details the many delicious layers of this wonderful pancake/omelette style dish. Being vegetarian, they very kindly left out the bacon, lard and tuna and the dish was still delicious! The waiter brought forks in case we wanted to use them rather than the chopsticks. I'd highly recommend this friendly establishment and delicious, good value food.
